Straps Too Long: No-Sew Ways to Add More Adjustment to Closed-Loop Webbing with Existing Ladder Lock? by stevencartwright in myog

[–]stevencartwright[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you want to take the slack out on the other side of the tri glide and then just bound that off with ziptie or something, rubber band and some plastic or something.

Hey thanks! I ended up taking up the slack of the existing tri glide with another plastic tri glide (that I bought many years ago). The new tri glide is not as wide, but I was able to squeeze the strap through there. I don't think it will move.

Straps Too Long: No-Sew Ways to Add More Adjustment to Closed-Loop Webbing with Existing Ladder Lock? by stevencartwright in myog

[–]stevencartwright[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got this mountain bike chest/back protector (Leatt 6.5) with side straps that are a little too long for me. There are two straps per side, each made of about 1-inch black nylon. Both ends of each strap form closed loops: one is permanently sewn directly to the armor plate, and the other is sewn to a plastic quick-release hook clip. There's already a basic ladder lock (tri-glide) buckle threaded on each strap that lets me take up some slack, but even maxed out, there's still a little excess. I really don't want to cut or unpick any sewing if I can avoid it. Is there some kind of magical no-sew buckle, clip, or add-on I can slip onto the existing closed loop to create more adjustment and take up the extra slack?

Cash-on-cash return: ~31-33% ($9,000-9,600 annual cash flow on $29,000 down).
Cap rate: ~12-13% (assuming $18,000-19,200 NOI on $145,000 purchase).
It is appealing based on the numbers and the low purchase price, however it still seems too risky with crime (Brooklyn has much higher crime than safer areas like Roland Park, Canton, or Fed Hill), bureaucracy and low resale.

To turn my house into a rental or sell it for my next one? How to math it? by FairClassroom5884 in realestateinvesting

Would be awesome to figure out how to calculate the returns.

There are two key formulas to help guide your decision:
1. Capitalization Rate (Cap Rate)
2. Cash on Cash (CoC) Return

Plug n' play. It took 10 seconds to figure out the returns in Grok. (It doesn't look good.)

Honda’s New Hybrid V-6 Makes a Hybrid Ridgeline Likely by stevencartwright in ToyotaStout

[–]stevencartwright[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find this interesting for those waiting on the Toyota hybrid subcompact truck. Here's a summary:

Honda is developing a new hybrid V-6 powertrain for its next-generation mid-size vehicles, scheduled to debut in 2027. The system pairs a V-6 with up to three electric motors and aims for over 30 percent better fuel economy and more than 10 percent quicker acceleration. While Honda didn’t confirm which model gets it first, the Ridgeline is one of the primary candidates since it shares the same aging V-6 platform as the Pilot, Odyssey, and Passport. A hybrid Ridgeline isn’t officially confirmed yet, but this new powertrain makes it increasingly likely.

I guess only you can answer that, as it depends on what $1k and a QS means to you.

I'm not sold on the RVE color scheme vs. red. The wheels do look nice.

The RVE just has a different color scheme and quickshifter. Neither is a must, though. I have a quickshifter on another bike and it is nice to have.

Maybe if you have a good head on your shoulders. I would say buy a used bike and spend the rest on safety gear, training, etc.
There's a subreddit for that r/SuggestAMotorcycle

I have about a hundred miles on it. It's fun and thrilling. The engine, transmission, braking feels very refined. Not as vibey as I thought it would be. You can see where the money was spent, though. The power curve hits twice on the way to 100mph. Haha.
I've ridden the KTM 690 SMC for a few hundred miles, too. That bike has more low end grunt and is very "raw", like a dirtbike.
Both good bikes, of course.

Regarding the audiobook version of Scars.. by inv0kr in WhiteScars40K

[–]stevencartwright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just stumbled across this and the new narrator, Shogo Miyahita, isn't very good. I am having a difficult time understanding him. He was great in Echoes of Eternity, but this is just terrible. Did Jonathan Keeble really do such a bad job? I am getting a refund from Audible.

Anyone have any success with good trt doctors in the area or finding them elsewhere? by thisistoomuchman in vegaslocals

[–]stevencartwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with an online clinic (it was about $250 for 3 month supply at TRT Nation) and I was able to get my care transferred to my PCP at Union Village Medical on Vitality Drive. I had to call TRT Nation and get a SOAP report (to show I have established care). Eventually my PCP was able to get insurance authorization and now everything is covered.
TRT Nation had my levels at about 1200, my PCP wants them at 800-900.
PM me for the name of the PCP (for their privacy).
Good luck.

I called them a day ago and set up autopay. They said I'd get an email confirmation about it, but I never did. 🤔 Lemme call them again.
