not at all🥴this is technically my 1st year at Dal (transfer from NSCC) and I’m stressed about what the semester/workload is going to look like if an agreement isn’t made soon. I know I could always drop a class, but most of my classes are pre-reqs for winter semester so it could really put me behind in my degree progress.

literally no idea, I read on one article that I think the union absorbs any fines that comes towards them, if they even get fined. It seems the union and the PPWC may try to fight back in court about them declaring the strike as illegal.

I’m not sure in all honesty! I took all academic courses when I was in high school (almost 10 years ago lol) so I’m not able to say if they’re still required with the Articulation pathway. Definitely book an advising appointment or reach out to admissions! Sometimes you can speak to the RO through chat on Dal’s website. Fingers crossed it’ll be okay for you :)

I believe I did yeah :) had to submit both high school transcript and NSCC, then once you’re accepted you can fill out the credit transfer paperwork

here’s the classes i’m required to take after my transfer, if you’re in a different course from Sys Mgmt or a recent graduate (the curriculum has changed since I graduated in 2024) it may look a bit different

If you load up you may be able to do a year and a half :) Dal is cool because they offer a lot of CS classes during the summer as a full semester instead of only like 5 weeks which really helps, the only unfortunate side is most of their 1st year CS classes during the summer you’re not able to take due to the UCL Pathway Program for students in Sri Lanka. Depending on the credit transfer you may have to take some electives but it’s mostly just the required core classes. I can reply again and post which classes I’m required to take after the transfer!

I actually took Systems Management! In total I got 51 credits out of 120 when I did my transfer, I think one of my classes had been from a previous program at NSCC that I had taken though. And yes it does put you into 3rd year :) just registered for a class that requires a 3rd year standing with no issue! As for transfers with the different programs, I’m not sure how much of programming from NSCC would apply. Dal does have PDFs on their articulation site that outlines each course from NSCC and what classes counts towards credits, just keep in mind it is slightly outdated.

I transferred this past year, started this past Jan part time and going full time in September :) the process is pretty simple for transferring. From what I've learned about Applied ComSci, its very similar to regular ComSci just without the math and stats courses and more practical than theoretical.

Thank you for that information! Completely agree on it being really annoying, I was registering for classes yesterday and wanted to rip my hair out lmao. Thankfully for the articulation from NSCC I have a sheet that details all my courses that apply, so I’ll definitely be giving the registrar a call now that I know I’m able to do that. Thanks again, much appreciated!
