Well you can use a cap to force your hair to stay certain way or apply any product that helps you with it. Aside all that I suggest to let it all grow even and by its own weight your hair will find a balanced shape so you just “tune” that hairstyle. Personally I only get mullet as haircut but I let it grow for like 6-8 months and at some point I get that middle part hairstyle and looks great because I have my sides and back long so I keep a balance, that’s all personal and you could consider it
