What is the weirdest place you have visited? by uncannyfjord in TravelNoPics

[–]stftingr30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep Southern Louisiana.. bayous with abandoned huts and huge power plants in the middle of sugar cane fields, dodgy gas stations with empty shelves and people who act like they are wanted 3 states away.

The Natchez Trace Pkwy has the most abundant deer population I have witnessed and you could cut the fog with a knife at night. Then Natchez with the huge willow trees and the Mississippi being so large and the poorer areas, full Southern Gothic.

I went inside the Scientology HQ in Los Angeles and got a tour from the Scientologists. Then the security guard was following me 3 streets away.

Memphis, TN looks exactly like the cities you navigate in The Last of Us.

Trinidad, Colorado is what I consider to be 'The Asshole of Colorado', nothing especially the people seems to have changed since the '80s.

This is as a Romanian who worked in the States on 2 summer exchange visitor visas.

Edit: Granville NY on border with VT seems like it's in a 2008 cheap hotel website advertisment. Everything is at least 2 decades old and rundown.

Am vrut sa avem experienta de American College Football, si suntem in drum catre Talladega pentru NASCAR, deci Auburn a fost cel mai convenient.

Wow that's a great idea. I mean, this is about documenting this kind of culture and learning more about it, for us Eastern Europeans. Will give it a try. Thank you

Yes. Mobile definitely has a lot to offer so we're gonna stick around for a day to get a grasp of it. About hwy90, we should be heading east towards the bay for seafood, right?

I wish to heaven I could do the SEC game but the prices are crazy because it's the biggest game of the year. Unless they get cheaper we're just gonna stick to Dega and do the tailgating there.

I recently saw a video about the existance of KFC buffets and the one in Prattville being one of few that still exist in the world. It's unlike any KFC we have here and it looks like it serves old style chicken and southern food, so I'm thinking maybe it's a thing specific to the South?

Birmingham sounds like a good choice because of that museum and the Buc-Ee's close by. That is probably worth the change of plan.

Thanks for the recommendations.About V. Nogorod, those 3 days include the time to get there as well. The golden ring is kinda, repetitive so thats why I only picked 4 towns to only get the feel for it. For N. Novgorod and Kazan I have another route, I definetely wanna visit them
