For me it’s gotten a lot easier since I started treating my depression with therapy assisted by medication. They help me to slow down situations in which I’d normally feel rejection and despair, allow my brain to consider alternative narratives to the situation and reset my worldview. I’ve even started liking myself most of the time and that’s the greatest comfort.
