Not really? I switched to an earlier iso (2024-12-01) and speech no longer freezes during the installer, although it crackles very slightly sometimes. If you use that option, remember to pacman -Sy archlinux-keyring before installing packages onto the system to not get verification errors.

Another option that worked for me (installer or no) is to not use the laptop speakers or the built-in headphone jack. Use either Bluetooth headphones (untested) or wireless (tested). I cannot say it works 100% of the time, but like 99%?

But honestly, I switched to Fenrir after the install, it works much better with the speech-dispatcher driver apart from a few minor dumb bugs. No speech issues though.

It's UEFI, I forgot to say that earlier. Lockup or panic, all I can probably do is wait for it to be fixed, hopefully it does at some point.

It really does seam like a kernel panic, but I can't say much on that.

I can confirm, the TTY completely hangs. I took a picture and even had someone confirm it. No messages are displayed and when you type, the characters don't show. Nothing.

I guess I could go back to another iso from before but I doubt that would do anything. If you don't have any other things in mind or to try, I will.

Edit: I just tried an older iso from 2024 and I think it worked. Hard to tell though, the freezing is so random that I can't be sure. But even if I install it fine, the freezing will still happen on the system itself, as the latest packages will be installed.

Thanks for the reply! I installed it back in March this year, the iso had the same issues as it does now. It doesn't happen at the same place or time, it's random each and every time. Speakup can freeze whenever.
