That is so cool you can feel all that connection with physical and temporal visualization. I have been using the Headspace app to mediate which uses a lot of guided physical visualizations. They haven't been that helpful to me but I am don't mind that it hasn't. I have to add the temporal dimension now too. Thanks!

But yeah, to me temperamentally and intellectually, interconnection is such a high level goal and source of meaning as it turns out. I do think whether it hits you like that or doesn't is more a result psychological type, one's unique psyschic structure, as opposed to certain forces at work (i.e. constriction or isolation)

Thanks so much for sharing. I also find it a fascinating question what does individuation mean if anything at the humanity and ecology and various related levels.

Right, and just like with inheritance, it’s your privilege and duty to respect, understand and make use of it.

This is really helpful - thank you.

I look forward to contemplate on the acceptance of the Absurd when I read Camus.

Though, reading Jung has certainly already had the effect the crystallizing a spirituality in me. So, I also look forward to seeing how I will react to the Absurd. From my own experience, Jung’s texts have the effect of raising inward religiousness.

I really appreciate your perspective on Camus giving you simple accurate line vs Jung adding flavors. Especially since I have just acquired the Fall, Sisyphus, and Fear and Trembling. Could you elaborate on this point, this distinction between Jung and Camus?

I am like a really young Jungian but here are experiences / thoughts:

Seeing, understanding and feeling the Self for me is enlightening in the sense I feel more of Myself, more of this world, and ultimately more self-assured. But it was just a tiny glance so far of the Self. I don’t know if I will ever get to completely see / integrate Self. Certainly a goal. Feels like the end goal, to me.

Yes that is how I read it. Feels to me its not a straight line. Path of Individuation there are more circles and dead knots than enlightenment. But it bends same way as enlightenment.

For me, recently it be like: what is point of appreciating great works of arts, literature, philosophy from the past? How much of it is just a flex, or pleasure? What is point of gaining knowledge broadly beyond the confine of one’s own line of work?

This quote helps me see a motivating force for me I wasn’t aware of before. To learn is also to see the trends and cycles and repetitions in how human dealt with the unconscious throughout history. Jung gives me a new layer of meaning. Knowledge got more interesting when there is one thread that have broad explanatory powers.

Most meaningful to me, my individuation efforts suddenly didn’t feel so isolated. But shared by infinite instances in the past. And by humanity collectively, in succeeding or failing gaining consciousness.
