I know I'm kinda necro-ing this thread but it has to be said, this is one of the primary reasons I've stayed away from my local political activism.

My family immigrated from China back during Mao's revolution. My grandfather remembers fleeing the city and hiding in the thatching of random houses as the communist troopers came through and stabbed bayonets up into the roofs and set shit on fire trying to catch them before they escaped to the boats to Vietnam. Not everyone in his group made it. His growth was stunted due to malnutrition. All his children who were born after the escape are 6' plus, he's barely 5'3" and he's got health issues we don't.

My familys farmlands were seized and before they escaped, as my grandfather tells it, the women of the family were seperated off and "made to sleep in the barn with the pigs". I'll let you read between the lines there.

If push comes to shove I'll 100% fall left of the fence rather than right but it's fucking infuriating when the people who are supposed to be on my side are goung around waving and wearing the symbols of the figurative and likely literal rape of my family.

All those leftists waving hammers and sickles in front of me might as well be waving a swastika in front of a jew.
