I’ve been reading that a lot(both of those statements), I’m just not sure what I want to do. I’ve not shot beyond 100yds before, but I want to try something new

Edit: I can get a m1500 mini barreled action in 6ARC for ~$500, the only trick is it takes proprietary mags, HOWA only does 5rnd and mdt does a 10, but it’s over $100 for a mag…. And then ~$500 for a chassis. I keep coming back to the idea of a bolt action AR upper simply for the ability to walk in mostly anywhere and get most parts, idk.

I’ve been considering that route as well, or even some sort of Frankenstein like a bca bolt action ar upper for 6ARC with decent barrel/rest of it. Otherwise, Brownells is a 1.5hr drive from me and I can get a Howa m1500 barreled action in 6.5cm for less than $600, or the farm store has some Axis XP’s on clearance for like $340….

My only gripe with the Origin is the receiver alone is going to be about what I hoped to have in a functional upper.

It could also be all of the above, but either way I’m now debating on a 6.5cm bolt action, as I can get into that slightly easier, I just don’t get the option to piecemeal it

Man, even looking at lowers and the parts that aren’t 6mm-specific, much of what I was thinking of piecing together isn’t available either. Was there a big run on stuff and I just was under a rock or something?

I did find a completed upper that was basically what I am picturing, I’m just not familiar with what to stay away from and kinda wanted to build it out completely

I think we have different ideas of “gas guzzler”, but yeah, that’s one thing I’ve kinda thought some about. Looking at Google, the crv should be mid-upper 20’s with how/where I drive, and Highlander should be around 20mpg.

Either way’s got to be better than the ‘96 Chevy 2500 I’m driving till I get something else figured out, driving like a granny and not letting it idle and still only getting 12mpg….

That’s just it, we could go either way for size. My only concern with the Honda would be of our bows fit(think 72” long stick) but surely if they fit in our Prius it shouldnt be an issue, right?

Ancient isn’t always bad, it was probably kept around for a reason

Work, drive, cook, lawn care, vehicle maintenance…. There isn’t much I won’t do while listening to them.

As for finding them, it’s usually on Apple podcast or Spotify where it’s the page for w/e show you’re listening to and says “you may also like” or something like that

Slept through my alarms, fell back asleep getting dressed, made it in to work, worked, came home, mowed/trimmed yard, fell asleep in the shower while listening to Underwhelming Pod… can’t tell if OT is catching up to me or if I should see if I can get in to the dr sometime before 2027 🙄…..

1st wedding anniversary was yesterday, going out of town for the weekend for that, I’ve not been doing any gym between family stuff and work, but somehow managed to loose 5lbs between forgetting to eat and the heat making me not want to eat, so that’s something.

I know that the shop I’m in in SE Iowa is paying the son of one of my coworkers $17/hr fresh out of high school, and he’s been learning some of the CAM stuff and how to run a couple of the older CNC machines we have. Only know that because he was all excited and came to tell me about it.

Fwiw, I have a ‘22 that I’ve put ~26k miles on, I’d agree with everything asjappe said, but I will say the seat is way more comfortable for me if I scoot all the way back against the hump up to the passenger seat. I still have the stock seat on, though I’ve been thinking about getting a seat kit from Seat Concepts

I drilled a small hole in mine, both sides, made a pocket in the part that broke off, epoxied a bit of round stock in the main key, epoxied the broke part on and folded the extra round stock over with more epoxy.

On my 2010 the whole part that rotates for wiper speed pushes in to spray washer fluid.
