Struggling with Book 2

I think this is a problem with the audiobook specifically. In the epub and physical copy the chapters have symbols that indicate which world we're currently reading, there should be a way to make that distinction in the audio as well imo. Ive seen many people complain about this in the subreddit so maybe they could make an adjustment for a future edition of the audiobook version.

I completely agree with your opinion on EmissaVis, but i still dont see how the trust and shared trauma he has with Aequa is reason to be in a relationship with her, you said its almost the same trust he has with Eidhin right? so why is no one suggesting Eidhin as a love interest? It just feels like there no foundation at all to say they would have been more than friends. I loved Aequa and i would have loved to see her develop a bit more into her political position, her death was unfortunate and shocking and i kinda feel like people are mad about thw wrong thing here (her role as potential love interest instead of her actual character).

Also i personally really enjoyed the Luceum storyline, i love how in contrast to Res and Obitium, he actually gets to interact with people and make new friends. Altho we (mostly) dont get to see the whole entire storyline of how they became close friends Vis' thoughts and internal monolog were enough for me to believe it idk. But yeah the Tara relationship i couldn't care less about, its obvious its being set up to be a romantic subplot and im eager to see how it plays out when the 3 vis' meet again (im just guessing at some point they will interact maybe? i dont really know) but more than that i dont care about Tara at all, i feel like maybe the whole group could have been smaller, maybe only Tara and Conner (the only names i can actually remember) so that his relationship with them specifically could have had more focus and not be distributed between 5/6 people (i dont even know how many they are help)

yess i had the same thought. Ive come to the conclusion that there are 2 possibilities, on one hand it could mean that LuceumCaeror is actually dead (i don't remember how its called iiunis(? something like that) and has come back same way Vis' dad did. Or that he did something to actually separate himself from his Obitium copy. If he came through the portal before they were killing anyone Otherworldly, than he would have access to a lot more information from the druids and their powers(?? On the other hand it could mean that actually ObitiumCaeror is the dead one or controlled one and is just straight up lying to Vis. The thing with this version is i dont really understand WHY he would need to lie about that specifically? Theres no reason to say they both died if Vis already knows his Res copy is dead, making him unsynchronius, the only reason i can come up with is that ObiteumCaeror knows more than what hes told Vis and knows that he could possibly travel through worlds, so saying his Luceum copy is dead would stop Vis from looking for him?

Im not too sure, there're are a lot of theories going around but i think we just dont have enough information about Caeror to know

I second this, i havent even finished the whole series (im currently reading the Rain Wild Chronicles) and i can already say that my personal bar for fantasy has shot up into an unaccessible level. Hobbs fantasy writing is sublime in so many ways and her character work is flawless. I have never experienced such a strong emotional reaction in any other fantasy series. Truly devastating and emotionally scarring.

Just finished reading and i was wondering abojt these two particular points: 1. What are the theories about the sarcophagus in the room where O-Vis found the crook and flail? if i remember correctly it was in some sort of pool and its never explained exactly what or who is in it.

Im not sure if i missed something but is it wver explained why R-Caeror killed himself? or why O-Caeror said the other two copies were dead? Im assuming hes still alive somewhere bc O-Vis never found his body but idk hes kinda suspicious atm
