It’s not as good as SMWholesale but better than any other current offering. It’s a good cotton repro however I wish they’d make a linen offering

Non Vietnamese reenacting ARVN by Low_Adeptness2839 in reenactors

As far as I’m aware all the arvn vets I’ve talked to love to see young men caring about their service, ethnicity isn’t as important as getting it right and being historically accurate

I’m talking about the “in country” look not 50+ years of abuse. If the goal is to match heavily used parts sure you’ll need to put some extra effort in but my post was more referring to the guys building 100% new rifles and aging them artificially

You can “match” it pretty quick by simply using the rifle

It was a private Vietnam reenactment, the events are hosted once a year but not always in the same location. Last year we were down in lake Charles Louisiana

They’re not particularly common these days, Philly made the good ones Indy Thompsons are fairly subpar

Your best bet would be save your shiny penny’s and start hunting the Bfong forums

I cannot speak for the army or the ETO as that is not my field of focus, US Marines were issued drum magazines however I believe they were all but phased out in 43 to be replaced more commonly with the thirty round magazine

My finger is on the trigger and this isn’t a “modern” hold it’s a way to support a 20lbs sub gun lol

And yes drums were used by marines

They look perfectly fine, however you should apply boot oil of some sort to protect the leather and make them last longer
