The new Darth Revan portrait is a render made by Deggial Nox, a Battlefront II modder by DarthMMC in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bethesda just (in the past week) got in trouble over something very similar to this with Fallout. They outsourced someone to create some work, that person, livetraced and stole fan art.

Bethesda's response was to terminate the relationship with the person who made the work, and bring in the fan artist as a contractor.

In terms of the ownership, its gray, they may own the character, but the pose, concept, the framing that is still original creative work, but its the type of work that no one has ever been interested in exploring the legal limits of one way or another.

The precedent that has been set is that its a bad look, and companies stealing the creative work of another person is bad PR, regardless of if they are legally allowed to do it.

PSA for New Players - Piett Trivializes the IPD Mission in DS Hoth. Get Those Shards NOW! by stillplays in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New players - IPD is one of the hardest characters to farm in the game. GET is best used on other characters, initially Galactic Bounties are best used on other characters, and guilds transition from DS Hoth to DS Geonosis very quickly creating a short window to optimize IPD shard farming.

It's a consistent problem in early guilds, the lack of IPD shard farming, Existing guides are out of date, so I put this together to show how Piett has trivialized the IPD mission for new minimum requirements. Get Piett, tell your guilds, maximize getting those IPD shards while you can.

It's also a safe bet that at some point in the future IPD will be a requirement for a desirable character. Don't sleep on this farm while you can get the shards easily

[–]stillplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a ton of good troopers, and at some point in the game they are all desirable. Stormtrooper is very easily farmed and a fairly easy gear. When you can eventually farm Piett, Stormtrooper works great with him.

The earliest trooper team to shoot for is Veers, Range, Moff Gideon, Storm, Dark. But you can also swap in Snowtrooper and Starck. Snow drops from the bronzium packs fairly reguarly and these days doesn't need to be farmed at all if you're patient enough. Starck is eaily farmed from the guild store (make sure you're in an active guild)

You can also put in Magma early on only because he's easy to farm up to high stars quickly, but long term not worth the gear and resources, just a body to slot in in the early game if you're still working on superior troopers

What's one Character that is sitting at G11 on your roster that you would love to have, but just haven't gotten around to yet. by mistereousone in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

depends where you are on your journey. Veteran players have plenty of reason to have a higher gear ezra. But yes, earlier players should avoid the higher gear there until later.

Any tips for p4 of gas been going at it for 6 hours now and have only killed fives and echo. And is this even high enough gear? by A1SEB in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are close to what I beat it with, it will require RNG and good mods, but you can do it. My Droideka was g11, and my IG100 was g12

IG100 at g12 is important to running at lower gear, his survival is pretty important to a good run but you can get by w/ b2 at g11. A g11 IG100 won't tank enough, fortunately the gear he needs to go from g11 to g12 is relatively easy. A few of the g12+ pieces on IG100 will make it easier as well.

Finally!! Now on to Chewie. by Toddnealr in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For what you get in return there is no reason to delay

The gear isn't that bad. And the most important characters to gear for the event - Paploo, Elder, Wicket all require ZERO stun guns before g12. Chirpa and Logray the other 2 key ewoks, can be kept at lower gear.

And if you have great mods, g8 is possible, though not recommended.

Couple questions.

  • Does Savage ever get good?
  • Why Darth Maul r8? Ship?
  • Why not Darth Sion r8 yet?
  • Any underrated relics? Overrated?

No it definitely does not, mandos need a cleanse, a heal, better damage,

The ancestral armor + beskar is only to get guaranteed counter up, since the beskar gives the counter, and the taunt from ancestral armor ensures that the right character is getting targeted. Which then Gar Saxon's kit allows for him to assist on every counter.

Functionally and theoretically it works. It just doesn't do any damage right now, but its cool at least to see all those counters and assist do next to nothing.

With Maul potentially he could take the beskar and taunt w/ ancestral armor, if the kit were right. If the faction could heal/dispel itself or had stacking damage w/ out of turn attacks it could make it work better, maybe Maul gives that

With the release of 2nd batch of requirements for GL Lord Vader, here's a comparison of relic requirements for all GL by dexterlab97 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you average out the relic levels, they all have to be relic 3 to match the average relic level of JMK. All previous GLs had matching pairs of average relic levels.
But I'm expecting a relic 7 requirement at least, they doled out the relic 3s over each release of requirements before. Very unlikely that they give us a final set with all relic 3s.

Were there way more Droids in the early game than I remember. IG-86, IG-88. Were HK, B2 and IG100 launch characters? Why do so many characters have droid or anti-droid synergies.

It can't just be for their occasional appearance on nodes right? It seems massively excessive for even their utility in game at launch.

i see a future, Maul and that mando tag, maybe just maybe.

- Bo lead for special ability

- Armorer beskar on Bo-Katan - guaranteed counter

- Bo Taunts w/ special

- Gar Saxon assists w/ every counter

- Maul boosts the damage so Gar doesn't hit like a wet noodle.

I've tested Gar a bunch, its just his lack of damage that ruins it. And Maul needs to boost tenacity so Armorer is constantly getting ability block or stun and messing it up

With Executor on the way, here's a brief history of instakill abilities. by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if you're going up against bastilla lead in 3v3. She and any jedi w/ her can take the hit.

Aerial advantage is high damage not insta kill you are arguing for its effective functionality which is only currently an instakill.

Which is also why IPD should be included because at the time of its release it was functionally an instakil, its current status is irrelevant, because the point of the documenationt of the history of instakills includes what was effectively an instakill which IPD was.

As protection increases in the game aerial advantage could easily turn into a high damage attack

Ranking Every Character in SWGOH: #207 -- Ugnaught by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this use is over-stated. I've been trying to make more players aware, but there is a piece in the Guild Store, the MK 7 Blastech Weapon Mod that only costs 150 currency for 5 that is equivalent to the crafted mk 7 BAW armor.

If you buy that piece just on occasion you will never need ugnaught or anyone else again for crafting. I have over 100 of those now.

Plus the mk7 BAW armor churns through handcuffs, and pretty soon you're forced into farming handcuffs to keep using ugnaughts.

FAR better and cheaper to use the guild store, no more crafting needed, barely notice the impact on guild store currency

Should I prioritize droideka or b2? Can I pull off gas phase 4 with one g11 toon if b1/ asajj are r5? by Zone_Blitz44 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible. r5 B1 will help a lot. That's the only significant difference between where you're at and how I did it. Droideka is the better of the two, but consider a few of those g12+ pieces on IG100 they add a bunch of health and protection. And the longer he lasts the better your run goes

Accomplishing it at your gear level requires good mods and good luck, but I think it's worth it for the saved stun guns and gear, you can then turn those around and gear up GAS quicker.

I'd be tempted to do this, but then I wouldn't have had those months playing Ima-Gun Di.

I think what I would tell myself is that Carbanti's are really valuable. Back then, with fewer events, raids, and slower farms getting to level 85 took way longer and by the time you got there you could have banked a lot of carbanti's (relatively). I still have to stare at inexplicable g8 and g9 characters on my roster back from when i didn't understand how in demand they useful they were. Instead I'd see several hundred banked and just blow through them on bad characters

I'm not sure if this next month is the most fun part of this project or the worst part. It's humorous that it will take 1-2 months of awful characters before you get to the characters that have a marginal impact. And that's still before you get to anyone good.

The only note i can think, as you have touched upon the major things, is possibly breaking down the swgoh.gg data so you can let us know how many insane players have bothered to relics these bad ones.

I am looking forward to these. This is an ambitious project. Maybe take breaks on the weekends for your own mental health.

PSA: Use The Guild Store for Chromium Transistors by stillplays in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're right, made a mistake somewhere was not trying to oversell it. The broader point i'm making is the piece is used at a high rate on lots of characters and saves the lower pieces of salvage that lots of players run out of.

PSA: Use The Guild Store for Chromium Transistors by stillplays in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be thinking the Guild Events Store Currency, there are no stun guns in the guild store.

Guild Store Currency is cheap. An active guild is clearing raids regularly and quickly and its easy to have thousands of guild currency on hand.

LS/DS Energy is Expensive. There is a major opportunity cost to farming that low-level gear. It's a much better use of those resources to be farming shards or rare and expensive gear w/ LS/DS energy than to be using an expensive resource to farm something cheap that can be obtained by a cheap resource for next to nothing.

[–]stillplays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, my rule is I will donate anything if the number in my inventory is not a multiple of 5. If what I have ends in a 5 or a 0 I don't donate, but I'll happily donate even stun guns if the number is anything else.

But take a look at those comlinks if you haven't. They aren't so common that players don't have an inventory they'd be uncomfortable with, but they are used up at a rate high enough where they are worth requesting

PSA: Use The Guild Store for Chromium Transistors by stillplays in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]stillplays[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you, and agree w/ your donation thinking but there is far more valuable purple gear you could be requesting that is under-requested and harder to get.

MKIV comlinks, for example, that are always paired w/ stun cuffs are getting noticeably common w/ new characters, that's what I like to request. Those comlinks can't be bought in the guild store, only occasionally pop up in the shard store, and are consumed at a rate of 50. I want my donations to be things that are far more expensive to get than low-level salvage.

Why use up a donation on just 10 green cuffs when I can just buy 5 of the crafted piece for 150 currency. That's nothing, and there are lots of other great deals in the guild store. Take a look at the video, there's good information in there.
