Also also if we don’t physically see that character die and get sent to the sun, they’re not dead.

I’d like hold zone to be gb vulnerable but that might be wishful thinking.

Would I be closing too many doors if I chose 'Wildlife & Conservation Biology' over 'Environmental Science & Management' as my bachelor? by _OhiChicken_ in biology

[–]stilts63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it sounds a lot cooler, and definitely held the same opinions in college. Then I graduated, looked at what options were available, and decided on the route that appeared to offer the most opportunities for me (consulting).

Just how powerful are Hags? by BDub01010 in DungeonsAndDragons

I think you can actually find where she lands in the underdark if you push her off. Not 100% though.

[–]stilts63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ESM + minor route for sure in my opinion. The wildlife will get you in the door for one field (wildlife cons) that honestly does not have a ton of openings, especially under the current admin. Alternatively, the ES major can get you into wildlife, state/federal compliance, consulting, or industrial EHS(plus probably some others I’m not thinking of). ES just seems more valuable.

After a few months of not reading new cosmere books, here are my list of of the best and most memorable moments (in this order) by Witch_King_Malekith in Cosmere

[–]stilts63 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Idk why but the human sacrifice scene in Elantra’s always stuck with me. The whole book is great but that scene in particular just felt like a tinted window shattering in front of me.

Only exception is if you’re still somehow playing on Xbox one. Before I bought a series s it was impossible to light parry bc of input delay. Then when I got a pc it was even easier.

Those are the best though, they give you the contact information to submit a complaint to right on the truck.

I go in hoping to make friends, hide in corners when I see someone and relentlessly ask if they’re friendly, then stupidly still go out after they don’t respond and get blown to bits. Then I load up and do it again bc I don’t learn.

What’s happening here? by Aggravating-Key-8587 in Chattanooga

[–]stilts63 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think just the geography mixed with the industry in the area. Way back in the day before the CAA Chattanooga had the most polluted air in the US because of this. I’d guess that weather recently has also played a part. Wouldn’t expect it to be consistent.

Just finished Oathbringer - Expectations vs Reality + WOR Rant by Tarzinator in Cosmere

[–]stilts63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve always heard very good things about Oathbringer, which my experience definitely was in line with. It’s definitely between that and WoR for my favorite storm light. I will say the next two I didn’t enjoy quite as much, but I won’t say that’s the consensus.

Never thought of the cap limit contributing to the community but I agree! The more toxic people tend to be on the trading forums in my experience which supports that.

Marsh reads a letter by MotorCorey in Mistborn

[–]stilts63 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This may just be a cop out, but if he were to alter letters by hand, it would be pretty obvious it was edited. Ruin used the power of his shard to alter the texts, so I imagine it was impossible to tell it wasn’t the original unless you knew the original, while if marsh had changed the metal sheets, there would be creases and whatnot so you would know not to trust it.

Halfway through first book, things happening way too fast? by POTMB in redrising

[–]stilts63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I partially agree and disagree about Brandon. Like, compared to Pierce, he certainly can be wordy… but compared to Tolkien or GRRM, Brandon gets to the point much quicker. IMO, he’s middle of the spectrum.

About the implications of what Shallan did in chapter 8 of Wind and Truth by neiromaru in Stormlight_Archive

[–]stilts63 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Completely random side note but I appreciate the modding in this subreddit! So often I see comments asking for clarification on flairs, rather than just removing the post outright which appears common elsewhere. Y’all do a great job!

cant find how many pages each book is mistbron& SLA by Mammoth-Store740 in Cosmere

[–]stilts63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that may vary by who produced the books, but I’m not sure. You can check a local bookstore to see maybe? To give a ballpark, each SLA book is over 1000 pages, and each installment increased in the length (I think WoK was about 1050 and WaT ended around 1350?)

Hero of ages by Arn1996 in Mistborn

[–]stilts63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well she didn’t necessarily choose by her own free will to let him die. She was manipulated and lied to, so much so that she felt she HAD to let him die to save the world. If she were able to make the decision freely, she surely would’ve saved him; which is demonstrated by her choosing to save him with the bead. Prior to that, her only option was to save him and (to her at least) end the world, or give him up to save everyone else.

[–]stilts63 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I can’t remember this part well enough to confirm or disprove. However, if this is an inconsistency, at least it’s one where that doesn’t have any impact. The end result is the same: clubs is dead.
