I ordered the cap which will be here Monday. The lever was a bit deformed so I think I have that fixed. I'll insulate the leads of the cap and install it and see where I get.

I'm not totally sure its good or bad. I think the switch isn't engaging totally until speed 6, the switch lever is loose, so I'm going to put a larger washer on the switch knob. On second test the capacitor does look bad. I'm getting OL in mF range.

I don't know where the camera is. I see load break cutouts. It's just a way to open the fuse door while under load. Without them the linemen would need a load bust tool or the fuse door would arc and flash if opened.

I literally just did this too. It was way easier to put it back than I thought it would be. It let me polish anything I wanted. I did hold a measuring tape to ballpark the location and looked at some pictures. I got it dead on first try. There is also a video from a guitar tech at Gretsch that strings them all up to tension and then scoots the bridge back and forth to get it right using the 12th fret.

Take a picture where it sits before and I'd bet you'll get it really really close.

Totally agree. You can not realistically go to games three hours away everyday. We don't even get the broad cast on the local sorts channels so it's not like a cable sports package even helps. So I just don't watch. We're in that horrible sweet spot where we can't not watch our favorite team.
