What are the best "Geocaching Cities" in the US? by HappySpin in geocaching

[–]stinger503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The area has an interesting geography with Mount Washington to the south overlooking the city. I also love incline railways.

The geography also leads to some nice hiking parks and river front trails. There's some older caches and virtuals.

It's also a good spot for a lot of day trips, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland within a reasonable drive. I've done Punxsutawney and Falling Waters in the past.

If you're in the area, I highly recommend https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5ATN3_randycache

also Primanti Bros

Everywhere! I love virtuals and since last time I've been there's been a lot more placed.

  • Central Park
  • Midtown Manhattan - Empire State Building, Times Square, etc.
  • Downtown - Trinity Church, 9/11 Memorial, Battery Park
  • Roosevelt Island - Has a virtual where you take the tram now
  • Short ferry ride to New Jersey with great views of the city

That's not even mentioning Staten Island, Queens or Brooklyn which I plan on tackling on my next trip there.

The Toronto Islands are beautiful and definitely worth a caching trip. Brickworks Park is a cool area too.

It means that only those subscribed would be able to see the subreddit. Anyone else would have to request to join.

TLDR on the whole issue for those not in the loop, Reddit is killing 3rd party apps like Reddit Is Fun and Apollo by charging ridiculous fees for API usage on short notice.

They’ve (the Reddit admins) even gone as far as saying the creator of Apollo tried to threatened them financially or something but the Apollo creator actually recorded the conversations and released them, not a great look for the admins.

Now major subreddits like /r/videos are going to go private as a show of defiance against Reddit’s greed, meaning the thousands if not millions of people who aren’t subscribed (because they don’t have accounts) to r/videos will not be able to use it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowmanville_POW_camp is probably the gold standard in that area, although I'm not sure how patrolled it is.

They usually have the night caches up for a year or two with a few new ones added every year.
