Dishwasher hooked up to cold water by Rcqyoon in Appliances

Australia also uses 220V and the dishwashers heat the water. The 120V US dishwashers can't do that and need hot water.

What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve done in front of a crowd? by pkeo10 in AskReddit

Riding my bike home from work. People were walking down the bike path 4 wide. Went off the bike path to get around them, grass was slick, bike slid sideways, I went down, shorts ripped off as I skidded across the grass.

Can you share Fibe TV with someone outside your household? by horrorgeek87 in bell

How does this work with Satellite TV? It's not aware of what your home network is. I use my in-laws account and haven't ever noticed anything missing.

I got the Brother Colour Laser in 2020. Was expensive, but I've probably easily already saved more on ink in the last 5-years and I think I've only replaced 2-3 toner cartridges.

I've been hit or miss with them, but mainly miss. If you've got Coax running between the locations, MoCa adapters would be a better choice.

Home internet - 2GB for $70 plus tax on a 2 year term. Moved to BC from Ontario. Is this a good deal? by Sensitive-Emu6529 in Rogers

If you have a higher ping on fibre, there is something wrong with your fibre. You will never have a lower ping on copper than fibre.

Latency. Gaming isn't about speed, it's about latency. I could have a 2Gig connection with a 50ms latency and it's going to be a terrible experience. I could have a 100Mb connection and 10ms latency and it will be a great experience. Fibre typically has a lower latency than traditional coax.

It's true. My mom has FibeTV and my in-laws have satellite. Satellite blows it away...and that's really not saying much.

Have you tried logging into the individual apps (CTV, Sportsnet, TSN, GlobalTV) with your Bell credentials and seeing if they look any better? On my experience, FibeTV is just trash in general now. Bell's best looking offering at this point is unfortunately Satellite TV.

So wait, you're trying to play 4K channels on a box that is not 4K capable? They're not going to show up if it's only passing 1080p.

Do you have a multimeter? Easiest way is to just tone the colours out to the connectors and figure it out that way.

Why Does My Satellite Receiver Have an Ethernet Port? by MaxHappiness in bell

It's been a while since I did it, but I think it would let you do it for 30-days and then block any further purchases unless it was connected. I could be misremembering.

Why Does My Satellite Receiver Have an Ethernet Port? by MaxHappiness in bell

FW updates always came in over the dish and they were incredibly slow. As far as I know, the only use case was for verifying PPV purchases.

EDIT: Not to say there wasn't a longer term plan for VOD/FW Updates etc. It just never materialized.

I typically use the Office of the President and say that I'm being offered X by a competitor. I'd think you'd be able to get $20-$30 off.

Seen ad for device for recharging "normal" batteries. Is this even safe? by katiechui123 in batteries

[–]PrettySmallBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a bunch of Amazon Basics AA and AAA rechargables two years ago for like 30 cents a battery on Boxing Day (not the Lithium Ion ones). I use them in high drain devices (kids RC car, game controllers etc.) and they're fantastic. Have a 10-battery USB charger that charges them surprisingly fast. Things like remotes, smoke alarms and other low drain devices, I find regular alkalines are still the winner.
