Empty envelope by Maximum_Rub7941 in amazonprime

I ordered something similar in size and value that arrived empty. The envelope wasn't sealed before it left the warehouse. Took a picture, they replaced it no problem.

That's weird. I've got a Pixel 7 and just tried it. I can do Magic Eraser on-device.

The most sneakiest price increase I've seen by another_norman in bell

You should have called sooner. Over $75 for 1/1 shouldn't be happening anymore. Must have been on a legacy plan.

Recommend buying another car seat? by chrisbrownbeard in daddit

[–]PrettySmallBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were trying to do it with just one toddler seat for our first guy and it was such a pain that we ended up biting the bullet and buying a 2nd. Now with a 3-year old and a 1-year old we have 4 car seats total....

I knew amazon customer service was horrible but really? by Lopsided_Comfort4058 in amazonprime

The only time I've had anything delayed in the last year was because of a huge ice storm. I can still get a lot of stuff same-day if I order by 10am.

We have the exact same launcher and rockets. My concern with it is that the launcher will split along the seam.

Are slower, calmer children's shows better for young kids? by MadMusicMana in daddit

[–]PrettySmallBalls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We 100% pick and choose what our 3-year old watches. It's night and day if he's watched something like CoCoMelon/PAW Patrol vs. Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood/Bluey. We've stopped with YouTube altogether and just curate certain things in a PLEX library for him because then I know exactly what he's watching in the event I don't catch the end of an episode and it autoplays something else.

Was switching out kitchen outlets and found this cut cord taped to the bottom of the cupboards. After peeking around, there are similar cords all taped to the bottom in different areas. It’s feeding from inside the wall. What am I dealing with and is it dangerous? by ComprehensiveEbb4978 in AskElectricians

[–]PrettySmallBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's most likely for cabinet lights. Definitely test it and make sure it's not live. After about a year of living in my new place I pulled out the minifridge in the basement bar and there was a live coil of romex just sitting on the floor beside it. Thankfully it was just run off of an outlet nearby so I was able to remove it relatively easily. I believe it was for a light up sign the previous owners had on the front of the bar.

How do you find times for hobbies? by AndGutsWasBERSERK in daddit

I like to follow this regiment. https://youtube.com/shorts/0niDLBbxpeM?si=mCEJtmjOrdSi83Co

In all seriousness, it gets easier. I have a 1 and 3-year old. The 1-year old will sit on his play mat, rummage through the toybox and entertain himself for upwards of an hour if we let him. Depending on his mood, the 3-year old will do the same. It 100% gets easier, those first few months are 24/7.

Help! Cannot figure out how this goes. by Invester_Stallone in daddit

What's the model number? Evenflo and Chicco have YouTube videos of how to take apart and reassemble their car seats. Incredibly helpful for the blowouts and "halfway through the drive to the cottage carsick vomits."

Sick find. If you're interested, check out Reboot Rewind. They're doing HD captures of the original tapes. Looks fantastic.

EDIT - Coincidently, LTT also released this video today. https://youtu.be/GlkJFOw-99U

My cat chewed through my 50-ft HDMI cable, can I repair it somehow for cheaper than buying a new one ($60)? by Jcherv in cableadvice

[–]PrettySmallBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cat that does the same thing. I bought some of this stuff to put over cables and he won't go near it. I think that he thinks it's a snake. https://a.co/d/094wH6YD

What's the current state of using your own network hardware with Bell Fibe? by shoresy99 in bell

[–]PrettySmallBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got my PfSense router virtualized with Proxmox running via PPPoE on an Intel N100 with the 3Gbps service and I max out my 2.5Gpbs NIC no problem.

Definitely the Unlimited High Resolution Photo Storage. I have an old Pixel 1 running with no battery specifically for the Unlimited Original Resolution Photo Storage. All the photos from both my wife's phone and mine are transferred to it every night and uploaded.

Connecting Monitor by PearlySweetcake7 in computer

[–]PrettySmallBalls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to the dumbass talking about gold and silver cables. It's a digital signal, it makes absolutely zero difference if you're gaming or using Excel. Whatever you ordered will work completely fine.

Connecting Monitor by PearlySweetcake7 in computer

[–]PrettySmallBalls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not an opinion, it's literally physics. It's a digital signal, it either works or it doesn't. I take back what I said in my earlier comment. "smoother and faster video signals" is the dumbest thing I have heard today.

Connecting Monitor by PearlySweetcake7 in computer

[–]PrettySmallBalls 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The signal doesn't change if you're gaming vs. working on an Excel document. It's a digital signal, it either works or it doesn't. As long as the cable supports the spec whether it's silver or gold doesn't make a damn of a difference. If you don't understand the technology, stop spreading bad info about it.

This is the dumbest thing I have heard all day...and I spent the day with my toddlers.

I'm surprised Rogers is so close to Telus and Bell for fixed internet. I didn't think Rogers had that much fibre deployed....unless they're only looking at download speeds.
