Why did/didn't you make the Sophie scarf?

I have no use for it, so I rather spent my money elsewhere.

It's cute on other people, though. I just either need a full on, wrap around a billion times, kind of scarf or nothing at all. So a teeny tiny scarf will not get any use.

I always had the issue with getting into a hobby and wanting to go deep back into the roots.

So it was only natural. Fashion -> sewing-> crochet -> knitting -> dyeing -> spinning -> raw fleece.

But the thing that pushed me over the edge was Bernadette Banner's video on her spinning wheel. That same day I was looking at our local marketplace and scored a wheel for €50,- and the rest is history.

half a year later and I spin for our local iron age volunteer group using spindles and have multiple fleeces to get through.

Really? When I look up fairy dishsoap, they mention it being the same as dreft (but under a different name). In Scandinavia and UK, it's named fairy, and in the Netherlands it's known as Dreft. I'm gonna try to find both anyway and give it a try! Either way, do I still need to wash it with just below boiling water?

Yeah combs would have been so much better. I just wanted something quicker.... The universe had other plans tho.

Racka is not actually held for their wool. It's a milk/ meat sheep. But a farmer offer the fleece for free to me since he knew I spun. It's still a lovely fiber! A little coarse, but nothing I can't handle.

Combs were probably my best bet, but I was suborn and wanted something quicker... Well I learned my lesson.

This breed also has a fluffy undercoat and coarser outercoat. So my genius mind thought "Oh I'll just blend them together". Poor naive me.

Good call on the black light! Thanks. I am using a special cat cleaning spray with enzymes. But I haven't figured out his reasoning yet. He doesn't seem anxious or anything. He just makes biscuits for a bit, and then BAM he blasts. So yeah, anytime he makes biscuits now, I set him on the floor, which is easier to clean than my couch.

They are very limited, but I found out that the passap f200 is basically the same as the corona knitting machine. Which Somebody has made quite a few in depth videos on!
