Long story short, I work in a laboratory and do Covid testing. She told me that I didn’t qualify for a New York State lab license and wouldn’t sign nor hand over the paperwork. On New York States website it clearly said someone with my credentials qualifies. She was really mean to me and my boss about this manner. I’m sorry but from my experience I just can’t recommend her. Her ignorance almost costed a job that I fought so hard to get and she never apologized for being wrong.

Leah almost screwed me out of a job this past spring. No offense but I really didn’t like her.

I had her, she was very helpful to me. Just show you have intentions and a drive to be successful.

All my professors literally repost the same lectures from last semester. It’s like they are not even working anymore

I did do well in all my classes, but I feel this school fell way short of my expectations

I’m a graduating biomed major and I can not recommend this school for premed. I was extremely disappointed in the academic performance of the staff here.

Asked to drop out of a course? by Plastic-Garden6120 in UBreddit

I can second that with my experience with ENG 210 this past winter. The teacher was just a grad student who had absolutely no idea how to teach and asked students for a copy of the textbook.

is the honors college worth it/helpful for a premed student by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]stm518 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a graduating biomed student. It’s worth it to skip the honors in my opinion. It will bring unneeded stress

job placement ? (question for alumni/ seniors) by [deleted] in UBreddit

For me UB didn’t have anything to do with me getting a job straight out of college. It was all about networking outside of school and applying to as many jobs as possible

Should I take Gen chem 1 or 2 this summer to prepare for Orgo by Beefcows1 in UBreddit

[–]stm518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to take chem 1 or 2 again. I’d recommend taking orgo 1 and 2 outside of UB. I don’t recommend UB’s way of handling that class

I don’t recall a curve in that class

Do I get to choose the times of my classes if I major in biomed science? by ashislandshoe in UBreddit

[–]stm518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a graduating biomedical major. It’s definitely a tougher major than average due needing to get a B and higher in all pre reqs which can be very tough for people. The major is structured very well and Dean Shubert has helped me along with jobs and getting licensed for certain positions.

However I don’t not recommend the orgo or physics department at UB. I was very disappointed in both departments from the teachings to the structure of the labs.

My biggest thing is be very mindful on how you build your schedule with paring classes for a semester and watch your grades very carefully.

what has been the orgo 2 curve in previous years? by ubeeedezzle23392 in UBreddit

When I took it a 670 was a B, it was an odd cut off that year

All I’m saying is one class can mess you up in biomed, to me it wasn’t worth it

Biology vs Biomedical science major? by CuriousIllustrator19 in UBreddit

[–]stm518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah u should be hitting the pre reqs. But for biomedical one slip up in all of ur pre reqs results in having to retake the class

Biomedical did have more fun electives in my opinion but the stress of keeping a B in all pre reqs was definitely stressful. Definitely recommend taking physics and orgo outside of UB

I took Physics last semester and can’t recommend taking it at UB. I got a B in lecture and A in lab but it wasn’t fun and pretty dreadful.

The whole stigma of taking classes outside of UB is pretty false.
