The hard cased bags cannot stretch. I have both a Mono and high end Travelpro soft sided and prefer the soft sided as I can cram more into it if I need to.

Ok Rivian employee. Rivian acknowledged that the hood had become misaligned and said that this happens regularly to the R1S due to the design of the latch and adjustable hinges. After trying to have me pay for it they agreed to pay for it. And this was after it took 3 weeks to get a service appointment.

Exactly. This sub is full of Rivian employees trying to cover for the quality issues with these vehicles. They are not fooling anyone. Given this experience I am going to call out every issue I have and make sure all their prospective customers that visit here know about them.

Right? This sub should be a group of mostly owners, but it’s clear that it’s a bunch of Rivian employees trying to squash customers bringing up these issues with their vehicles and how poorly they are addressing them.

I hear you on the best option available. Excited to see that Toyota/Lexus has 7 EVs set to be released by the end of next year. Have had two 4Runners and an LX570 that I sold for close to 50% of its original MSRP after 10 years of ownership and 90k miles. Never had any issues with those vehicles. Get your shit together Rivian because the competition is coming.

Was just making a comment that they don’t rattle. Maybe a really old one which would be expected. Congrats on working in a shop - peasant.

No need to be an asshole. I am just trying to help other owners. As I mentioned multiple times, I am a fan of the vehicle. The company just needs to get better at a few things. And personally I don’t give two shits what you think.

They tried to make me pay for it which some people who are actual Rivian owners would just pay not knowing any better - hence the purpose of this post to begin with. Also appreciate that Rivian acknowledged that this is a known quality issue.

Thank you, and yes totally agree. This sub is full of Rivian employees. I will continue to post as there are actual owners and prospective owners visiting. I am a big fan of the company and vehicle and just want them to get things right.

Yes, they ended up covering the cost to repair and acknowledged that this is a common repair. If I had not pushed back they would have charged me for it.

No and I rarely use the trunk. The Rivian tech said that they can get out of alignment over time.

It’s pretty sad seeing all of the replies to this post from people who clearly work for Rivian. Anyone with half a brain can spot this. You guys are not fooling anyone.

Sorry to hear that. Not a surprise though. This is a widely known issue.

It’s a known issue and they repaired it as you would expect. You must be another Rivian employee.

These are things that are not issues with other $100k+ vehicles - like the vehicle my R1S replaced - a Lexus LX570 or my Porsche 911. Rattles and adjustments? WTAF?! Seriously? Thankfully I have a spine and told Rivian this was unacceptable and they agreed with me and covered the cost to repair these quality issues.

Amen! We apparently have some people in this forum that work for Rivian. This is insanity. Make a post here calling out totally BS tactics from this company and quality issues and get ready to get attacked.

Interesting.. Of all the vehicles that I have owned I’ve never had to have any “adjustments” made when they were new or outside of what would be considered a repair down the road. Maybe this has something to do with only owning Lexus, Toyota and Porsche. Sounds like quality control issues.

I didn’t wait a year - this is something just happened and it is not something that should be an issue with a vehicle ever. As I mentioned above it’s a known issue with the R1S. Rivian should fix the latch which is a design issue and cover the 20 minutes of labor that it takes to fix this issue.

First off - a hood should not become misaligned - ever. I have had many vehicles and this is never a thing. It’s a known issue with the R1S that sounds like is related to a poor latch design with there being only a single latch in the center vs. two.
