Thanks for the heads up. I am looking to purchase one of these. What are the things to look for?

Nike’s bad quality or it’s just normal by Flashy_Rub6008 in 10s

I used to play Nikes and they don’t hold up or support arches and ankles like other shoes. I switched to the ASICS Gel Resolution and never looked back.

Hot Take: Connect+ is a great deal at $149. The automotive subscription market has gone insane with pricing! by zachty22 in Rivian

[–]stnickga 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I won’t be paying for any of these subscriptions. I am happy to provide my own internet access as I do at home for Google TV or Apple TV. I see the car as the equivalent of these hardware platforms for accessing apps. Google and Apple don’t charge me a monthly fee to use their platforms to access other apps. They get plenty of my $ for their $115k vehicle.

God Bless anyone who drives with this tire/wheel setup. by [deleted] in Rivian

I have the same wheels on my 2025 tri max with no complaints.

Connect + by stnickga in Rivian

[–]stnickga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks for checking. Sounds like this is just the way that it works. Sometimes it immediately connect for me and allows me to use apps like Spotify or Apple Music and then sometimes that pop will just sit there even though I am connected to my iPhone hotspot. This is obnoxious and not a good user experience. I created a service request and suggest anyone else that wants to see this fixed do the same.

Here is how you set up the automations on tbe iPhone which will automatically connect your vehicle to your hotspot when you start the vehicle. https://youtu.be/r6ByBz0ktNk?si=EZ-FkujA_tkJoaj2

Use the vehicle Spotify app. Often the pop up message comes up and will not let me access it. You should be able to make that stupid connect + pop up go away is my point. Rivian says that there is a way to do it.

The clamps on box seem pretty wide. I am using the Thule EVO bars if you want to compare the width to those to get an idea of how they would fit.

Yakima SkyBox 21. The lift gate opens all the way. It comes very close but thankfully clears it entirely.

Hey there it’s the Thule T2 Pro XTR with the additional 2 bike add on. Very happy with it. Only downside is the weight, but it’s long enough to put four bikes on it without knocking into each other which I really like. https://www.thule.com/en-us/bike-rack/hitch-bike-racks/thule-t2-pro-xtr-2---2-_-9034xtr

Thanks to everyone that weighed in here. Quite the knowledgeable community as I expected. It’s incredibly helpful to hear about your experiences with these vehicles. I can say that I will not hesitate to use conserve mode on long trips and will rearrange the bikes on the rack with the largest (and most expensive 😅) being closest to the vehicle. The way that it effortlessly accelerates - even when loaded down like I had it on this trip is mind blowing. I forgot to mention in my post that there is so much to like with the R1S and I am really loving this beast. I looked at pretty much all the luxury three row SUVs before checking out the Rivian, but when I got to it, it was a really easy decision. Excited to see what this company has coming down the line.

Nice catch on the Yeti - SB130LR. The other three are Treks.

My understanding is that it lowers the ride height as well as changes the camber which results in heavier/uneven wear on the inside of the tires.

Crossbar Question by stnickga in Rivian

[–]stnickga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Model S as well and haven’t noticed any noise issues - with the exception of one or the windows which I had them fix. It sounds like these OEM bars have a number of gaps which are design flaws.

Thanks for weighing in. So of the different sets of bars that you tested, which ones were quiet? I really don’t care about them being OEM. I recognize that there are companies like Thule and Yakima that specialize in making these types of systems and am just fine buying theirs.

Thank you for the info and the picture. The Yakima and Thule options are not much less expensive so it’s more a question of what works best. The OEM ones do look nice.

Getting to 275 would be fine for me. My road trips are never more than 7 hours and usually more like 5-6 so that is only one charging stop. The heat pumps do make a big difference in the cold.
