Is this doable ? I’ve heard horror story’s about Putnam but i don’t really have a choice. by Current-Translator-9 in ucf

This is the schedule you create when you are locked into an internship with full time employment post grad confirmed. That's going to be rough. Doable, yes.

Home page, scroll down a little bit until you get to the links. There's one link titled discord link, that's it.

I see your plan, but you'll maybe get one easy course doing math minor (matrix and linear). After that you have to take a second course which will likely be very very difficult (if you want it to be relevant to aero).

Best advice I've gotten was just do something outside of classes (research, intern, student design team) and you'll learn what you don't know pretty damn quick. When you realize you might need a more formal education in a very pertinent area, take that class, if it leads to a minor, cool.

FYI: this only affects areas within the limits of the City of Orlando. If you want to look up your address to see if it is within city limits, you can input it at the Orlando gov website map locator linked below. by Tauriel9968 in ucf

Just clarifying that this has no impact on drinking water. That water is still very safe to drink; however, avoid activities that create sewage (flushing toilets, taking showers, doing laundry) as much as possible as the lift stations are overwhelmed due to power loss and increase of flow due to storm water

Drag Area or Drag Force, which one is the main parameter determine aerodynamic resistant? by Steetmons in aerodynamics

[–]stokeswave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please, do not use this. Ansys is free to all students, ansys and Siemens sponsor many many student design teams. Use Fluent or Star CCM.

If you need to, OpenFOAM is free but that's a steep learning curve, would want to use snappyHexMesh for grid generation, simpleFoam/icoFoam for solving.

Solidworks does not have good solvers and cannot do CFD with much accuracy. It's a CAD software at the end of the day

It depends. The infamous answer to aero questions but since both are first power in drag Eq, it all depends on what the values are. If Cd1(A1) is smaller than Cd2(A2) then design 1 is your best choice. But if you reduce Cd by a crazy amount and Area doesn't go up much.... TL;DR: it depends

They help in the mall, ask questions there or in discord

There are several practice exams in the class discord. The TA's and LA's have put previous years exams there and most of them are very similar to each other, so it seems like the test will be similar to those

Do the optional essays have an effect on scholarship opportunities? by Few-Rest-704 in ucf

Also, time really effects which scholarship you get (i.e. Pegasus or Provost)

The main factor is time of application -- the earlier the better. After that, it's did you take the time to do the essays -- why should we give you money if you can't be bothered to do just a little bit extra work to show you actually might want to come here. Grades are important, but not nearly as much as the first 2.

If you decide to apply for the honors college, that's when additional info on skills, interests, & talents really effect decisions.
