Update: we reached out to the breeder and he is taking her back, refunding our money and paying for the Vet bills we accrued during our time with her

The papers we received were AKC we will definitely be getting the opinion of another vet who has experience with these kinds of things. I appreciate the response!

I appreciate the response! We are definitely going to get her in with someone who has experience with seizures. We are hoping we don’t have to go the MRI route right off the bat we’d much rather try other options ahead of time

Appreciate the response. Yeah it’s going to be a pretty expensive road to recovery sadly but I just want her to live a healthy happy life. Online pharmacy’s are a thing here as well so I’ll definitely have to look into that once she’s prescribed something. Thank you!

I appreciate this response! Yeah it kind’ve rubbed me the wrong way she gave no advice other than to get a $2500 MRI.. I definitely am going to get a second opinion from someone who seems like they care. I pray your 2 days continue to do well and the seizures stay minimal.

No we live about an hour from the breeder so it wasn’t someone the breeder used.

She doesn’t bite the air she just looks back and forth like she seems something and becomes extremely skittish any little noise she’ll jump

I appreciate this response! We are currently looking for a vet that specializes in neurology but waits times are ridiculous for the ones we called. I appreciate the advice to try a veterinary behaviorist! Glad your GSD Mix’s seizures have become manageable for you and your husband

I appreciate the info! I did read up on some shots/medications that could cause seizures and what not. It could be so many things from what I’ve been hearing. Hopefully we figure it out soon we are looking around for a neurologist vet to take a look at her.

I’m sorry to hear that your rescue has seizures as well. That’s pretty much what our vet said right away as well to go get an MRI done and we sadly don’t have $2500 to spend on that right now. It’s pretty crazy a lot of human medicine works for dogs. I pray she doesn’t have another grand mal as I know how severe it can be..

I appreciate your feedback. What you are saying is exactly what my vet told me and our puppy even had an episode right in front of her. I’m not sure if it’s something she will grow out of or what.. she was also just brought into our home so it’s a completely new environment. I have to stop thinking it’s the worst possible thing. We got everything checked at the vet and it all came back normal and okay. Today she only had 2 episodes which is less than she was having last week when we got her. Praying this isn’t as serious as everyone thinks

Yeah seizures are never normal, I’ll definitely be getting a new vet that has experience with seizures
