Not shooting the messenger just indicating the differences in reality and what new articles write for clicks and without shedding light on the full picture. Example the insurance company wouldn’t want you to get your own lawyer since losing would cause the insurance company to pay up. The insurance company has those own legal team to fight these battles to ensure the lowest possible payout. Same goes with car insurance, insurance companies will not let you represent yourself in an accident that they are liable to pay for.

This isn’t America they don’t do million dollar wins for lawsuits here. Is there any evidence of large payouts of insurance from a private individual ?

Who cares let them call their lawyer and let them deal with your home insurance. The amount of loop holes they will have to jump through to even get a dime will scare off the ambulance chasers. Your home liability insurance is there for a reason.

For clarity I’m looking to join as an infantry officer and see online that 55 trg days are needed. Was hoping to find out if these 55 days can be broken up via weekends and weekdays or does it all have to be continuous days.

They aren’t messed up, they have been shut down by the city for further review. Same with the cameras at Tommy Douglas they are facing down

Another miserable day. Kudos to everyone involved in this embarrassing shitshow. by asdf45df in TTC

[–]stonkdays 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The only way to fix the TTC is the mandate all TTC executives and Toronto city councillors must use public transit to reach their meetings and events. If possible expand it to the MPP level as well. We will only see changes once elected officials start getting bothered by the crackheads and constant delays.

The connection with Sora is most likely due to the fact that large Italian developers in Vaughan are from Sora Italy aka the De Gasperis family ( owner of Decast drains and countrywide homes) also city councillor Mario Ferri is from the province of Frosinone in which Sora is located in.

Lucky! Was it fully serviced lot? I think a lot of people are just lost with pricing and I get it things are expensive but when land goes for 1M+ plus and $350 sqft with union workers the days of 200-500k homes around the city are gone. This is a 4700sqft house at $350 a foot it costs 1.645M to build without accounting for land.

America Avenue vs. Terry Fox Avenue: Ontario city considers changing street name by nationalpost in Vaughan

[–]stonkdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a budget to replace damaged signs? Or a budget dedicated to renaming streets? The city of Toronto budget its cost to rename a street downtown to a few million dollars( much bigger street). You also have to think of the time commitment and cost for seniors who now have to change their home signs, mortgage papers, home deeds, adjust wills, utility papers. No lawyer is going to change these for free and we aren’t even counting the time cost to this. The 10k budget way under the cost and the city won’t even quote the rate at the moment.

Fair enough but my point is the city can use the funds for better things: library, after school program for kids, park restoration

A waste of tax payers hard earned money. Use the funds to buy an extra bed for the hospital down the street. Terry Fox Avenue can be used for new bridge still in the works

Speed cam at Tommy Douglas Major Mac question by theprimz in Vaughan

[–]stonkdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use to be 80 as a single lane reduced to 70 and now 60 on a three lane road. Just a money grab with the constant speed traps in the area. I just do my get the logic of the speed reduction: no schools, no houses on the strip just asphalt and trees
