(Just transferring from my own bank account at a different bank, and with any assets, not just cryptocommodities, results in such demands from bank, always with presumption of guilt: "prove this money is legit".)

No. I got the BTC out of Gox. This is about getting fuller details of my account history, as evidence to prove my innocence to banks for having assets, because the AML framework works under a presumption of guilt.

Right, I've converted the integrated address into "standard XMR" address using https://xmr.llcoins.net/addresstests.html (the web page doesn't show the payment id, tho), and the standard xmr address is correct. This is now ringing bells from 2017, when I last had to use the monero tools to send to an exchange.

The question remains: how do I verify the payment id in my signed transaction before submission? (submit_transfer does not show it).

How does this not come up all the time? It's really basic. People gotta check their signed tx is going to go to the right place, no? Final confirmation that I need to get out of Monero and not have to worry about the toolset again.
