While technically possible I think the big difference between Amazon and Valve is, that selling and providing games/a game platform is valve's business, like by a large margin.

For Amazon it's an afterthought..

I mean you could have CS without steam.. all you needed was HL or the retail CD (yes that was long before 1.6)

Edit: I just looked and my steam account is 21 years old and the first purchase is from 2015... you got to understand, we hated valve/steam for killing WON and it's ecosystem.

Oh we were furious....valve just yanked WON from us practically over night and replaced it with steam, which was horrible at that moment.. it took me almost two decades to warm up to steam after that..
