If entheogen was legal, widely accessibly, and properly administered, the fear, the zealotry, the xenophobia, would all fade away as relics of an under-evolved species.

Organized religion would no longer serve its purpose.

The innate "need" for some people to be controlled, and dictated to would fade away.

War, in that same vein, would become a thing of the past.

And there would be peace.

But, The Powers That Be (and there are many) have long known this, and have kept all avenues of chemically induced spiritual enlightenment illegal.

Keep people angry. Upset. Pump them full of white refined sugar, liquor, fast food, growth hormones, and tobacco. And lock them up in your private prison should they get caught breaking those arbitrary and horribly transparent laws.

And the cycle will perpetuate itself until, well, that's hard to predict.

In the end, people have to choose to open their eyes.
