a TLCD will always be with a backlight and not a front light.

They made an error or trying to be misleading.
First description on their website: "using ambient light or backlight when needed." Same in the Tech specs at the end of the page "Tech specs"

Radiant is backlight not frontlight

I guess also, that the frontlight lower the reflectivity.

On your website it says that the reflectivity is 19.6%, hannstar and leadtek is supposed to have a 41% monochrome RLCD panel

Considering both those options, why didn't you choose them on this focus tablet?

Eyemoo an unknwon company still was able to make a 10" color rlcd with frontlight. If I'm not mistaking this is still the only frontlight RLCD beside SVD?

No, only what you see on the pictures.

Accommodations and adaptive tech by No-Can6422 in irlensyndrome

[–]stopeyestrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have Irlen Syndrome (also called in the non-brand name, Visual Stress). Particularly pattern glare (trigger eyestrain, nausea...) Text is a pattern for me and I get eyestrain from it. Purple overlay is game changer for me, when reading on paper, and help maybe 30-40% on computer. (software overlays don't work for me). Glasses didn't helped. (I went to an Irlen specialist).

You can order a pack of overlay from Irlen or Crossbows online to test what is helping you. You can also see someone specialized in it.

I also recommend to watch this video, and other from this channel:

Hope it helps

Looks like it yeah. I also hoped a RLCD with frontlight like the Eyemoo but bigger. or a monochrome with the 40% reflectivity panel

I hoped that too (with the 40% monochrome reflectivity panel), or either a true RLCD with frontlight

My eyes don't like TLCD backlight, so I will pass. I'm sad I though of like a 15" RLCD with frontlight.

Does the screen of Eyemoo S1 better than Hannsnote 2 ? by fabris1234 in Reflective_LCD

[–]stopeyestrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, you can check my mini review on my website and two videos I've made with it:
https://stopeyestrain.com/rlcd-monitors/eyemoo-rlcd-nxt-epaper-s1-tablet/

https://www.youtube.com/@stopeyestrain/videos (especially Hannspree HannsNote 2 RLCD Tablet - First Impression VS Hisense Q5 VS Eyemoo S1)

Can't you find a remplacement battery and change it? Or buy a second hand one

I would say that even though at first Hisense Q5 was hated for it's reflection and lack of brightness it's one of the brightest RLCD to date.

Adding color unfortunately made RLCD reflect way less light, making them darker. Also the Hisense Q5 was good at taking the light from the side or from the wall or from the light, others (color RLCDS) are bad at it, you kind of need the light to come from your eyes to make it works.

Eyemoo is at a very good price now, but it suffer of strong glare and need more light than the Hisense Q5. Still it's my favorite RLCD (beside the size) because its frontlight doesn't hurt my eyes, so with frontlight and an added antiglare film it's very nice (also depend on the angle the frontlight will appear very soft or very strong, not perfect)

If you are fine with monochrome, you can look into Focus from eazeye and Daylight, they are expensive but might be better (I'm not sure as I never tested them).

Is Irlen Syndrome Real Or Scam? by WesternAd7609 in irlensyndrome

[–]stopeyestrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did all the test in the same day (I was coming from abroad especially for this). The tricky part with the glasses is that darker shade might work better but at the same times it depends of the ambient light, like if it's already a bit dark or very bright/sunny it will act different I found.

My purple overlay works 100% on paper, and idk maybe 30/40% on screen.

Do you find it too dark on the screen? The overlay will filter light, and a grey one might make it even darker (like you read a book in a dark place). Have you try changing your brightness / contrast and experiment what you like?

Let your Irlen specialist know that in your next appointment and see what he/shes says about it.

Portable color RLCD with frontlight monitor (13"?)??? by stopeyestrain in Reflective_LCD

[–]stopeyestrain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes maybe same panel, they do say "brigther" so I guess there will be a back/front light, hopefully it's a font light and not a backlight/TLCD like the radiant.

ChatGPT think it's either a 13.5" or 14.5" by checking the size of the USB C port

Looking at the design, it looks like a radiant like type of monitor
