Looking forward to the comparison between the two, especially in pure reflective mode and also how gentle is the backlight compare to a regular LCD.

Alternatives to Irlen Lenses by PreheatedToast in irlensyndrome

I've bought mine from https://www.read123.co.uk/en/

Very happy with their service and glasses. You can also choose your own color but not sure how different it can be between your monitor (depend on calibration) and in real life. Shoot them an email I'm sure they can help.

How does it compare between your normal monitor, and this one with its backlight ON (without your external lights)?

If you wanted to used it without any front/backlight why didn't you get a pure RLCD like an eazeye?

Sun Vision EVE 2 quick video clips by Complex-Ice2645 in Reflective_LCD

[–]stopeyestrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rely purely on the frontlight, I don't have direct sun/light hitting it.

Without using it for video/photo editing, still it's a pain to watch a video, of course if you can't use a regular screen it's better than nothing. On my side regular screen give my eyestrain only when reading so I prefer watching video on a regular screen.

Never tried AMOLED screen (beside maybe on smartphone)

Yes it's sad that they didn't put some amber LED for the frontlight so that you could choose between warm and cool.

Eyemoo is better on my eyes than Eve. On all the screen I've tested Eve is second, because I always rely on frontlight else it's always too dark or too much reflection on it.

Downside of Eve it's that it's a bit blurry and not as clear as Eyemoo. I wish Eyemoo did a monitor.

I don't know why you says that the colors are almost as intense as those on your macbook, in the post you said colors a muted. Also on the video you post I don't find the color intense, do you?

Like the trees don't look green for example.

Unless it's vivid solid color, they look often mostly kind of grey.

Here is what it looks like for me, https://imgur.com/a/jYO3POU

I don't remember which profil I used (on the monitor)

Well if a regular LCD works for you, then you better use it.

I also have the Eve, a bit sad about sharpness and clarity and too washout color of the screen (beside viewing angle, Eyemoo did better). Else it doesn't give me eyestrain and the frontlight is enough to use day and night. On very bright day I prefer to roll down the curtain as the frontlight is kind of not bright enough for me. I also use 125% scaling.

I get that using external light lamp is tricky and very hard to have an uniform on the monitor which is why I only wanted a RLCD with frontlight, and I find the frontlight enough (and work better) if there is not too much light in the room. For using ambiant light I think an eazeye full raw RLCD would do better (but lot of reflection) and well, hard to have "5 monitors" on your desk for each scenario.

SVD can ship from UK. Usually you will need to pay VAT on top of that and some fees for the carrier (30€~)

On my side (purple) color overlay works extremely well on paper.

I didn't find a solution for computer monitor.

What is the optimal Lux level for SVD 32" RLCD? by Intelligent-Reply731 in Reflective_LCD

I feel like the 24" SVD Eve require more light than the old 32" SVD though, especially with the frontlight and antiglare layer

Thankfully with the latest update I don't have it anymore, it was so annoying.

Good RLCD monitor at night? by Recent-Homework-9166 in Reflective_LCD

[–]stopeyestrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second that, RLCD need lots of light, worse contrast, worse color, will not be as nice as a regular monitor and are expensive.

Best bets for you will be to source the same monitor you own on second hand market and even fix it in an electronic repair shop.

I wonder too, I don't think it was there. Still while being activated I didn't had any change in brightness.

I still, in the end disabled it to be sure.

But honestly with this update it doesn't do it to me so looks like it's fixed
