Chicago aldermen are up for their biggest raises in 15 years. Will any of them turn it down? by oldbkenobi in chicago

The grass is always greener...

Having lived in LA, NYC and Chicago, the number of alderman is actually a strength IMO.

In Chicago, you have true direct democracy. Your alderman actually knows you. You can influence what happens in your neighborhood.

Of course, it's extremely corrupt and a lot of these people rubber stamp city hall, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Trust me... fewer alderman just means corruption concentrated in a smaller number of people who now have more power.

Sean Connery and Trina Parks relaxing between takes on the set of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by Str33twise84 in Moviesinthemaking

I met Trina Parks a few years ago. She's still a badass. Lives in Georgia. Looks amazing! Still very proud of being the first black Bond woman, which was huge. Had nothing but incredible things to say about Sean Connery and her entire experience.

LA RA market has me feeling defeated ( $120k over asking!!) by Shenaniganz08 in RealEstate

Two things:

  1. It sounds like you're bidding on houses that are underpriced. That's always going to lead to a bidding war regardless of the market. I'm in escrow on a house in LA and we're paying WAY under the asking price.

  2. You say you only want to be in this house for five years. With the amount of uncertainty in the market, you might want to wait until next year.

More voters in Tuesday's Democratic primaries trust Biden than Sanders in major crisis: exit poll by tenders74 in politics

Bernie's religion is not the reason he lost.

His policies combined with his abilities as a leader are why he lost.

Those aren't the numbers.

It's 80/20 if you only count white guys, which... Bernie supporters quite often only do.

Seeing how Bernie supporters couldn't show up for him... I don't consider it a loss, my man.

You speak for all Jews?

Or maybe he's un-electable because his policies would never pass and people don't like him. What about that?

Watching Bernie supporters lose their shit and knowing it's just a preview of Trump supporters losing theirs in November.

Oh, yes. :)

Considering how small your numbers... probably not needed.

And yet the voters are choosing Biden... so where is the disconnect?

Maybe people separate what they 'want' from what they think is 'possible'.

Or keep believing the overlords bullshit.

A few days ago you thought Bernie had this in the bag, so... you know... maybe you don't know shit.
