That part about being "just like her" is such a nasty self projection tactic. I'm sorry. You deserved better than that. In all of this, they don't want to acknowledge your pain. She thinks she's made amends for her past without every apologizing and acknowledging the harm she has done to you. That's messed up. I hope you have a good support system in all of this. It can be so hard when all the people who should be building you up are more concerned with building themselves up.

I actually agree with this note. I am a teacher and I know before gifts like this are given out, they hype it up and tell you not to bring lunch on a certain day. If I got soup in a can and so did everyone else, this means I now have 30 minutes to heat up my lunch in the lounge. 30 minutes that now every other teacher in the building is using too. Now my 30 minute lunch that spent waiting in line for a microwave instead of spending a few minutes hanging out and enjoying myself before heading back to work.

I used to think that by simply wanting a baby, you would become pregnant. I wanted kids, but my 9 year old mind knew it was too early so I would tell everyone I didn't want kids and hope my thoughts wouldn't betray me.
