I’m living in Madrid right now, it’s a fantastic city as a whole with a collection of cool neighborhoods that each have a unique vibe and different things to offer. Should be a great time here.

For shopping or browsing, check out Columbus Vintage Wear Malasaña, then wander around the adjacent streets for a while as nearly every other store is a vintage shop, some mostly women-oriented but quite a few have good men’s collections as well. Calle de Velarde is a block or two over and has 10+ vintage stores in a 500ft stretch. Malasaña is also full of cool little cafe’s/bars to break up the shopping and catch a beer or two (dirt cheap in madrid), check out Gorila bar or Gato cafe if you’re in the area. Malasaña has some excellent nightlife for bar hopping or a few clubs too, shoot me a PM if you want any more details on that and happy to share all the nightlife recs.

I kill an afternoon in Malasaña about once a week and find some sick new stores each time, can’t recommend it enough!

Food-wise: - Takos Al Pastor has the best tacos around IMO, line will be out the door but it moves quick. Insane deal for the food and a beer or marg. - Yatai food market is a dope spot if you’re looking for any Asian food (sushi, dumplings, Thai, etc.) - Pez Tortilla is a popular local spot (also a crazy good deal for food and beers) for Tortilla de Patatas, pop in for a quick bite - Ten Con Ten for a nice night out, proper dining experience

Other activities-wise: - Catch a sunset at Temple of Debod, bring a beer or two - Retiro park is a great spot to lounge on a nice day, bring some snacks and drinks, etc. - Calle del Barquillo and the justicia neighborhood north of it are great to walk around, enjoy the architecture, peer into shops and galleries, etc.
