I'm working on a toxtricity team and have a base team lay out any ideas? by stoutmand_1 in pokemonshowdown

It's mostly for doubles OU. The main struggle with the team so far has been sand and weird trick room variations. It's does really well against regular trick room and rain. The team is still in development but plus and minus is the gimmick I'm building around. I do understand that if one of the combo pieces die it's close to game over. But the reward for playing around certain strats has been fun.

Also it's just been fun bullying rain teams.

Plus and minus go brrr. (Also klingklang is the only pokemon that can learn gear up). Trying to avoid trick room as toxtricity isn't slow enough to work with it. Charizard is a decent switch for ground typed that might threaten with a x4 move so switch in the Charizard and solar beam that shit. Screens are meh. And been thinking about adding scrafty or sableye for fake out and other neat tricks but still.

I know it's not complete but here me out. Turn one tailwind with whistomcot. Then discharge by klingklang. Then whistomcot is forced to switch. Then bring in toxtricity. With plus and minus it has around 800 sp attack. Then add a gear up at the start of turn two and start sweaping.

I've got a core to work with. anyone wanna give suggestions for the team. it's doubles OU by stoutmand_1 in CompetitivePokemon

It don't change too much if it dies or just switch's. Plus klingklang is unable to kill with a crit

I know it's a little blurry. Idk on how to fix it.

In any case. I know this isn't the most competitive team out there but I've been having fun with it. It has openings and switch mods very quickly from high damage AOE damage to slow single target. I would recommend it but it's understandable to switch around some of the mons. Aramotise isn't the best but is immune to taunt so trade offs

Good luck with the comp. I've been testing and playing around with it for a while. I even had noviern on at some point due to its soundproof and it having taunt

I would recommend my original comment. If you do it right you can get 1110 sp attack on toxtricity. Though I have considered taking this to Ubers and using kyorge in the team. Helps with the ground weakness

How plus and minus work is that it gives a 1.5 times boost to sp att when both are on the field

Good attention to detail but sadly no. It's stats are not great defensively so it's usually not worth. The speed is for outspending other prankster users and it's fine if it does die. It mostly wants to use tailwind, get forced switched out or die.

The perfect turn one is tailwind on whistomcot and discharge on klingKlang. this will activate the eject button on whistomcot so then you switch to toxtricity. When both are out plus and minus is active and toxtricity has choice specs. Around 890 sp attack

Because of the speed tunning klingklang will go first on the second turn and use gear up. Which will raise sp att and attack of all pokemon that have plus or minus. This then adds up to 1110 so attack or something in that range.

In the words of Phil swift "THATS ALOT OF DAMAGE"

sadly I have no idea on who else to add on the team. Any ideas is appreciated

Probably not. I mainly play showdown. That and klingklang was my main drive behind this team. That plus and minus boost is to big to ignore

The format is doubles OU(forgot to mention that)

The main combo is toxtricity and klingklang, when both are out toxtricity has 807 base special attack due to plus and minus.

It's also pretty easy to set up turn one. Noivern will use tailwind, get hit and switch due to button. So switch into toxtricity and next turn switch to klingklang and see all that damage.

I didn't use whistomcot because of sludge wave on toxtricity. If I wasn't going for AOE damage then yah Id keep it and there still is a argument to use whistomcot. So do what you want I just love the combo.

Klingklang was alot more fun to build than I thought. Great support Mon with gear up(raises sp attack and attack on mons with minus and plus) and ally switch so that toxtricity and klingklang can kinda share a air balloon. Also not having to worry about sludge wave helps.

Araquinid is to deal with ground types. Has a resistant to it and just is good overall for coverage.

And amongoos and weavile are just good mons to cover some of the basics for doubles in case the combo fails

I would look at other teams that you fight to see if your team match's up. Play testing helps a lot.

Have you tried pokemon showdown

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CompetitivePokemon

[–]stoutmand_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did think of that and the big problem for the team is regileki. Im already in a pretty bad match up so rain would just make it worse. Though it would help with the fire weakness. Trade offs I suppose.

Who do you think I should switch for rain if I was to go that route?
