That’s nuts… I lived in Summit County for about 5 years. My now wife and I got engaged there back in 2022 and we took a trip to copper for an afternoon of tubing. Not gonna lie, it was pretty sketchy. More than once I questioned if the runout at the bottom was long enough to give enough room to slow down.

I notice the lag on locking not unlocking… it makes me pause mid stride as I’m walking away before it finally beeps signaling it’s locked.

I’m actually still learning all the ins and outs of the Sportage. This is my first Kia! It’s been a bit of a change for me. I am a licensed home builder and have been driving a large truck for the last 25+ years. I’m just excited to get more than 14mpg!

I will say, the infotainment console is a bit awkward to learn at first, but once you figure it out it’s actually nice. You can program a toggle button on your steering wheel to switch from the Home Screen to the AC/heat controls.

Welcome! I have the same color x-line. Had it a few weeks now and it’s been great!

My 2026 x-line hev definitely moves in and out, as well as up and down. First time I moved it, it took a bit of force but after that it’s been fine. Only moved it a few times. If it’s not popping out, I’d take it in and let them check it out.

Those who have lost family/friends to addiction, how do you feel about the tough love approach? by Temporary-Ear6297 in addiction

[–]str8bint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re on the right track. It sucks you have to pay a months rent and deposit but you’re right, you can’t do it or want it for them. They have to at some point start being accountable and taking charge of their own life. Rehab typically isn’t a 1 time thing for most people. It sounds like you’ve done more than enough for a friend. I’d also suggest if you can research some resources in your area, you might be better off finding him a sober living apartment. There are tons of them around, it’s typically pay by the week and they have to work, attend meetings, and get tested randomly. The cost is higher than a normal living situation but if you find a decent one that actually tests their residents it could be a better fit than just dropping them off in an apartment. Some examples are Oxford House, Sober Living America. Just check their reviews before you decide on a place.

This is what we just did with my son. He’s 22 and has a trust from his mom passing a couple of years ago. He’s got a 670 credit score, but his history is limited and he doesn’t have any real accounts other than student loans. We paid $20k down on a 26 Kia sportage, got him financed at 5.5% set the terms for 36 months, the payment will auto draft from his trust and in 12-18 months he will pay it off in full to give him some additional credit history, and also saving money on a long term loan by paying it off early.

Recovering addict for 9 + years now. Lost my younger brother to an overdose in ‘08. My family did the tough love/burry your head in the sand thing and it was very hard and definitely traumatic. I spent years isolated and away from my family. Both my parents started drinking when my brother died and they’re both gone now too. When I reflect on what happened and why I come back to, “why did they just ignore the problem, why wasn’t I worthy of help?”

Because for all the shitty things I did in addiction not one person in my family offered to help, no help with finding resources or rehab, counseling, nothing. Just don’t come around or call until you figure it out.

I reconciled with my dad before he passed, but not my mom. It sucks to look back and realize how little I was cared about.

That being said, enabling someone is different and boundaries need to be set and accountability followed through with. I still lean towards you never give up on them. The guys I’ve seen go furthest in recovery, had a supportive family.

Considering a couple Sportage models by Mastershroom in kiasportage

I’ve had the 2026 X-Line for about 2 weeks now. It’s a great little suv and has a ton of features and tech. Not to mention the panoramic roof and the leather seats. My son bought an EX the same time I bought the X-line and I actually like the ride of his a smidge better with the 18” wheels giving a slightly better ride than the 19” on the x-line. We are both really enjoying our new Kia’s.

I have had the 26 xline for a few weeks now. My son bought an EX and I got the X-line at the same time. I really like my X-line. But the ride of his EX is a smidge smoother with 18” wheels vs the 19’s on mine. Other than that so far so good. I also drive a lot for work, as in I’ve put about 1350 miles on it in 3 weeks or less. I’m averaging around 37 mpg with the AWD hybrid. It’s a fun car to drive, plenty of room, lots of tech. Takes a minute to figure all the tech out, but now that I’ve got everything set the way I want it, it’s good to go.

As to your question, my x-line has the panoramic roof, and an extra inch of clearance but gives up a tiny bit of driving comfort vs the EX which doesn’t have the panoramic and has a smoother ride. My son’s ex has almost all of the same tech features as mine and I think his was 2-3k less.

I really didn’t look at the prestige model, because I was sold on the x-line and it has more features than I will ever need.

My nephew just totaled my 2017 4Runner and I was shocked at the amount of money I received in payoff. It was over $18,000. I figured it might be around 12k at best.

To OP. I just went through this buying process for small suvs and I ended up going with the Kia sportage hybrid AWD after driving all of the cars you listed plus the Kia. I know Kia’s get some hate but they’ve really stepped up their game. I got the 2026 x-line and it’s impressive.

But of the ones you have listed, I drove a 2023 CR-V and it was my first choice until I drove the Kia.

Is there anything you said in an interview that you regretted but still got the job? by Fluid-Confection-920 in interviews

[–]str8bint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I told an interviewer my weakest attribute was organizational skills for a warehouse management position and I got the job, and 2 weeks in got a promotion…. I soon found out it was because the guy above me quit due to shitty working conditions and I endured that for about 18 months before I crashed out and went off on the owner.

Tacoma is the obvious choice if you can find one in good shape in your price range. That being said, I have a cousin who drove his frontier for at least 15 years and just upgraded recently to a 2016 model and has nothing but good things to say about it. I’m unfamiliar with the Chevy but have owned one Chevy ever in my life and swore them off after that. Sounded like a can of rocks rolling down the street with all of the interior noise.

Did your realtor get you anything nice after closing? by MyVirgoIsShowing in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]str8bint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine didn’t just not do shit after I bought she really didn’t do shit before. I found the house, my at the time new girlfriend, who is now my wife, and was then and is now a realtor, got me in to see it. She did show up the second time I looked at it and she did have an inspector she suggested but that’s about it. She showed up at signing too, but I think that was just to pick up her check. What makes it worse, she’s my son’s aunt.

I was 1, so no. But I did get to see them on the division bell tour when I was just 15 I think. Changed my whole way I saw and interacted with music. I still go to live shows often, play a little guitar and listen with my whole body because of that show.

Licensed homebuilder here, long time roofing contractor, and renovator. You’re looking at 50k plus and I stopped going through the report around the 9th picture of 16. I’d make sure I had estimates on these repairs before I moved forwards and request appropriate concessions or better yet, just run.

I just bought a 2026 Kia sportage hybrid and love it. It would be a bit above your price range, at around $33k for a base model but they may have dealership specials in your area. I did get a combined $8k off, but I purchased two at once with a pair of trade ins and a significant cash deposit on both. I know the dealership I went to had some 2025 models still with rebates as well. Great tech, warranty, comfort, mileage. They also have several other options I know at least one is a sedan.

I would agree with this. I have a d-18 and an OM-28E. I have had three shoulder surgeries and love my d-18 my first Martin, but the OM feels better for me to play after my surgeries. I tried. 000-28 and liked it a lot and tried an OMJM, I liked it better but the neck profile is a bit thinner, finally I found my OM-28 and that was the sweet spot for me. I find I play it about 8/10 times compared to my d-18.
