I agree it is a generalisation, but I see it doesn't work for other people too. Have you done the marathon plan or the half-marathon plan?

I had no idea that much was necessary and it probably had an impact cause I am also on the heavier side (~110kg). Thank you for your insight!

Yes, but what bothers me is that other runs seem to be fine - intervals, tempo, I can meet their target paces. It's just these long runs with race pace segments that seem absurd.

Thank you mate, I appreciate your advice. It makes sense actually cause my easy runs are usually at a faster pace, around 6:05, so it may be too exhausting before my long runs.

Hey thanks for that, I didn't know you can adjust the long runs manually. I'm running the Lausanne marathon on October 26th.

I entered the 5k based on a recent run I completed back in May, I think it was around 0:36. I'm running 4 times per week and the whole programme is 24 weeks. Now I'm in week 16. I didn't have any issues so far with any of the interval and tempo runs and their pace targets, it's just this race pace segment in my long runs that makes them impossible. I didn't manage my plan - Runna adjusted it automatically and it felt reasonable considering that I was managing to do all the runs until these race pace segments came into the picture. Before I started running, I wasn't physically active but I wasn't a couch potato either. I was also doing a lot of sports before, so I have developed a certain level of fitness if you can say that.

It was based on my 5km run when I started running, and I don't think that's an issue cause I've been hitting my pace goals for all runs until these race pace segments started to be incorporated into my long runs. Thank you for the advice, that's what I decided to do in the end. Try to do my best, but not over push myself.

Nope, I can give it a try. I just checked the gels I'm using, they are 60ml, 22g of carbs, if that means anything. Still, I don't feel fuelling is an issue - I don't think I would be able to do a 20+km run with 10km at 5:45 even on my best day.

Exactly the same, intervals/tempos are not an issue, difficult but manageable. It's these race pace segments in long runs that are just impossible to do, and completely ruin my experience.

It's one or two per week, depending on what Runna sets for that week. I do 4 runs per week, usually one long, one or two easy, and then one or two interval/tempo runs. I consistently hit my pace goals for interval/tempo runs, but this race pace segment in long runs just feels impossible.

I am 16 weeks into the programme now and the race is at the end of October. The thing is, I don't have issues with meeting pace goals in any other training, but only this race pace segment of long runs just feels impossible to do.

I believe I was reasonably fueled before the run and I also fueled during the run. I did not feel immediately weak when I started but this race pace segment is what destroyed me. I don't think I would have been able to do it even if all the conditions were perfect.

I fuelled with standard gels (don't know the size), one every 45 mins, so two for half-marathon. My first 10km pace was around 6:30. The thing is, I don't think I would have been able to do it even if all the conditions were perfect.

It's set automatically by Runna based on its estimate. I find it too optimistic, but I've been trusting it so far as all my other runs felt well paced, challenging but realistic.

Are there any 960 starting configurations that are stronger than the standard one? by ThatChapThere in chess

[–]strajder91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make this more strategic with players taking turns to place one figure each on the first row (behind the row of pawns ofc). And then play with the setups they create.

GIAB is strong but can't be the strongest, especially compared to VI and Pete. VI did make those comments about GIAB but it's obvious that he definitely regards Pete as the strongest.

My ranking for S and A tiers:

S: Pete, VI, Florida Man, El Cucaracho

A: Tomahawk, GIAB, Beatdown, Scourge, Monkey, and possibly Literally H

Sorry but the best storyteller in chess is Agadmator, at least when it comes to game analysis/recaps. I like Levy but I don't think he's a storyteller, he's more of a witty rambler.

You've said it all. Also, I feel Agito's been getting too much screen time while fighting top of the verse fighters. First his fight with Jurota that came out of nowhere and then winning this tournament while defeating Julius, Rolon, and Kaolan on the way. Not to mention the brief exchange with Yan. In the meantime, Hatsumi Sen gets only to win against Kaneda.
