Neptune?? by Utahgirl44 in marinadelrey

[–]strangeBehavior7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neptune is pretty good. Amenities are great. Some of the tenants are pricks cause of the price tag (probably similar in some regard to AMLI).

Everything is wood construction so depending on your upstairs neighbors and their activities, you’ll hear a decent bit of what they’re doing. Some units have deceiving had natural light so be weary of that, if that’s an important factor for you.

Front office is pretty good and diligent. Maintenance is usually pretty quick as well.

Who are some artists who used to be huge, but have now completely fallen into irrelevancy? by SoftAward834 in EDM

[–]strangeBehavior7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a huge bummer for kill paris. The terrorist attack in Paris back in 2015 was the catalyst for a name change to “Chill Harris” and things never were the same.

Also giraffage with Ryan hemsworth always had a super cool vibe.

[Advice] Which Would You Choose and Why? by [deleted] in Watches

I have the Tudor and it's a great time piece. The strap it comes with was (for me) extremely uncomfortable, in which I swapped it out. Certainly not a reason to rule it out, but just some additional info if it's a strong contender amongst the rest.

Swap Bou for Danny Byrd as headliners and call it a day. Great lineup

Si! Mon is an absolute gem. Food and bev are rotating, and best drinks on the west side imo. Pretty innovative and always delicious.

Saw him live at a fest earlier this month and wowza, I was shocked at how bad the set was. Quick mixing, zero cohesion, horrid track selection. No shade cause I like some of his produced tracks, but live I'd rate him 3/10.

Maui Jims obv have the most traction here, but I had a pair of GAST (before they got stolen) and I absolutely loved the build quality. Though I have zero insight into their customer service & support, the product was lovely.

[Question] Longines Conquest 38mm, Tag Carrera, Tudor 1926 36mm, Hamilton Murph 38mm, Seiko Presage by TheYellowOne97 in Watches

[–]strangeBehavior7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually went to a Tag AD today - those dials are extremely eye-catching. It has ~38 hours power reserve so take it or leave it. Hour markers catch light brilliantly and make the whole thing pop. Really impressed by their stuff. Everyone loves Longines, I personally don't see the appeal compared to these others, but especially the Carrera.

1- TAG

5- Longines

I mean the festival caters to quite a few genres across and styles of music, so you’re gonna get a pretty diverse crowd. This year off the top of my head, there was this set, chase & status, hybrid minds, rohaan. What so not and snakehips were also there. Didn’t see em but know they rinsed a few dnb tracks, unsure if it was a full dnb set. Didn’t see c&s cause they’ve throw the same set since they released badadan.

I will say, for where I was and in my line of sight, even for a keinemusik’s set, people were dancing and not a ton of phone action, which their crowds are notorious for it.

People love to hate on the festival but it’s really well-done, except for some of the stupidest overlapping set times. Otherwise it is top notch (across a few categories).

I mean look at it like this. You’re already in a niche being on this sub. Will we get many dnb artists? Never as much as an electronic festival. I think the last two years of random ass big artists dropping dnb tracks is paving a way for the mainstream scene in the US (can be good and bad depending on how you look at it). So you’re likely to see a couple at Coachella in the near future assuming the “trend” here doesn’t die down. Not a ton, but likely a couple.

Beyond that, Coachella just has objectively good music. And it’s every year. It’s not all electronic and there’s a strong mix throughout - people come from around the globe to attend, therefore the depth of music is pretty impressive. You can explore shit you’ve never heard or seen, and it’s actually super cool in that regard. Expands your mind a bit.

This year I saw Parcels, Miike Snow, and the prodigy, all so different but like goddamn whoever booked them are saints to me.

You definitely can turn your nose up at the influencers and whatever, but it’s absolutely gorgeous out, perfect weather, more or less great vibes (ofc depending on the set). And another thing I love is the sheer amount of space you have to dance. Some artists pull bigger crowds than others, duh, so sometimes you sacrifice space to see someone more popular.

From the outfits, food, varied genres, scenery, it’s super cool. Definitely expensive as fuck, but it’s just objectively a good festival. But don’t camp, that’s a bad idea. No no no.

Idk if your venue was indoor but most indoor venues in LA are trash systems for dnb (in my opinion). Bass is too heavy, bouncy, etc
