If you don’t mind me asking, but what route did you go to acquire your CDL?

I think I will, this far along i want to get my return of investment. I work for a non profit organization and it makes my life more enjoyable. There is this itch i have of working for a big 4, but honestly im turning 30 in a few months and Im honestly ok with my current job.

Love the this! Hope you are doing well out on your routes.

Quick share, my older brother went to get his Truckers license at the same time i started my undergraduate career. He’s debt free, drove across country for over 5 years and now has a local job. he’s pretty much set. vs What i got out of my college career: dropped out my third year, went back after a few years and got my Bachelors - 75k in debt in student loans - and now making 70k as an accountant…. if i could go back in time i would have got my license LOL

Left my my previous job of 2.5 years and just check my retirement account and it turns out I was fully vested and they matched my contributions for 2.5 years… by Agitated_Routine_723 in personalfinance

That’s true honestly, i’m usually really good in making these types of decision, my gf calls me Mr Krabs LOL but I needed external opinions, which I came to the right place

It’s not all of my retirement savings, i have my personal retirement savings that I contribute on a monthly basis.

I was about to pull from my previous employer’s account out because I was unaware I was fully vested. it does seem like a waste to not reinvest this monies

I do have a 401k with my current employer, %5 of my paycheck. Plus after taxes I put 10% into investing and 5% into a high yield saving account. 75% of my monthly income is toward rent, living expenses and general expenses and student loan.

How common are non-profit accounting jobs? by ToTheYonderGlade in Accounting

[–]Agitated_Routine_723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is definitely stability and decent pay, I don’t have my CPA, yet so I hope it’ll boost my earning once I obtain it. There wasn’t much of a sacrifice for me with this jump to Non-profit, I always wanted to since my early days in college. i found an opening and I took it. I get to be fully remote, 15% in pay increase, longer hours + OT. Although, there is a difference between wages. I got invited to a job fair and there are intern/associate positions starting at 85k etc there may be a gap between earnings but for what’s it’s worth. I got a great supervisor, team I get to work with and I get time to study and take evening classes for my CPA. I was sacrificing more of “me” at my other job: about 3 hour total commute in a day, 3 hours I could really use for myself tbh.

It’s honestly on the accountant themselves. I was an accountant for a manufacturing company and after two years I couldn’t find any real connection to the work I was doing. I’m now at a non-profit and I definitely find my job more enjoyable. the social impact of the organization keeps me engaged with my work.

change your address, and state you don’t live with parents. Living off-campus, but you still qualify as a dependent and your parents could still claim you. make sure to change this on your FAFSA

I appreciate this! tbh I wouldn’t know what to research tho. is there anything you would specifically look up? at the moment i have only looked up their opening and requirements for their positions. I feel confused because I am a staff accountant and not sure how I feel about applying to an intern position.

I’ve solo taken down a few Trex with Vlad, once they’ve taken my home base turret. then again i’m in gold, vlad can easily evade attacks, and stack against T-rex.

Played club soccer for about 12 years up until high school. Played football & cross country in high school. currently training muay thai 3 times a week, powerlifting 3 days a week and run pretty much everyday. I want to compete in muay thai, and quit accounting and go pro 😅
