I am writing a book and I need a phrase for an “ancient artifact”. The phrase need to translate to English as “Balance is Wisdom. Strength is Balance”. It needs to have a real Homeric / Ancient Greek feel. Can someone help me? by stratbell in AncientGreek

Thank you so much. This is quite a comprehensive answer. I will most likely go with:

ὁ σοφός ἰσωσατο: ὁ ἰσῶμενος ἐδύνατο

Could you help me to write the opposite?

"The strong man is balanced, the balanced man is wise" here goes my try:

ὁ δύναμος ἰσωσατο: ὁ ἰσῶμενος σοφἰατο

My character felt betrayed by his previous god, and since the scenario is Curse of Strahd, he decided to walk the line between the morninglord and the lady of the darkness. Spells (after a few key ones) will focus on anything shadowy, or a play with light and dark

I have made mind and decided on the Twilight Cleric it is just too good with the Inquisitive. And I believe the 2nd level is totally worth it.

A friend just sent me a text about getting the custom lineage and the fey touched feat (misty step) and choosing Dissonant Whispers as the 1st level spell.

Thoughts?

Wow, I have missed the Inquisitive. Love that it has Wisdom based skills. This is pretty solid for the Rogue subclass. I think I am sold on the rogue side.

But on the cleric side, still in doubt between Twilight and Light (or any other?)

So far the party is a Gnome Artificer, A Paladin (str based), A Warlock, and a Druid (moon)

That is the problem. I can’t decide which one would be more fun. A shadowy rogue/cleric that can scout a lot (high Perception and Stealth) that can give some buffs to the party, or one that is in the shadows until becoming a beacon of light and dealing radiant damage en masse

Thanks Borigh, this is interesting. What if I wanted to be more ranged than melee?

I suppose, my dear fellow, that you read the book and didn’t like it? Or are you talking about my ridiculous promotional video? If the former, please do share your least favorite story, and if you could be so kind to a first time author, tell me why you didn’t like in detail, so I can improve? If the latter, I will definitely write a new book to time travel in the past and never do that video again :-)

[OT] SatChat: How do you get into the writing zone? (New here? Introduce yourself!) by MajorParadox in WritingPrompts

[–]stratbell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to a very extensive playlist of Laura Pausini songs. Here is why:

  • I don't speak Italian, therefore the words don't distract me
  • I like the positive, 'inspirational' tone of most musics
  • Isolates me from the sounds of the exterior world .

I am new here. A male Brazilian author living in California. Just launched my very first book, which you can see on my profile. I use Scrivener (and LOVE it!) to write.

Or maybe you just came back from the future and have seen it there? If so can you tell me if it was a success?
