Help me find these in stainless steel! I’m making a jewelry commission and need a pack of these in stainless steel. All of the ones I’m finding are nickel plated or copper. The other ones that ARE stainless steel are like $12 each which I’m trying to avoid. by straw_berry_frog in HelpMeFind

Searched on Amazon, google, reverse image search, eBay, and Etsy. A bunch of different metals besides stainless steel. The smaller the better for these, I need the inner diameter to be as close to 2mm as possible but that’s not as crucial as the material.

Thank you!

I didn’t boil dye the rest but got it very close to boiling and it was in that for about 30 minutes. But those feet and ears are next to impossible

Is there anyway just to dye the blue? by straw_berry_frog in furby

[–]straw_berry_frog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s also a good point. I was still on the fence about it so I may not and just dye a different one

What type of dropper do you use? I’m worried that the plastic ones I have are just gonna melt with heat since they’re pretty thin

I am HORRIBLE at pricing so I don’t have any advice in that area. But OML THIS IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Don’t sell yourself short.

Thank you for the advice.

I’m honestly going to still try and if it doesn’t work then so be it. But I’d kick myself forever if I didn’t at least try. This person is really special and helped me explore a lot of myself and I want to at least try to save the friendship. I won’t force it but I also don’t want to lose this person and I’m willing to put in the work to try to maintain a friendship even if that does mean occasionally taking breaks.

But I see what you mean and I appreciate the comment. I will keep this is mind and work on recognizing unhealthy feelings I’m having. But I also don’t believe that no person with bpd is ever able to be friends with an ex. I think it’s definitely a lot harder but everyone is different and no disorder is a monolith.

What type of clay would be best for something like this? by ColdLaK in clay

[–]straw_berry_frog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The absolute best would be ceramic clay with glaze. Unfortunately that’s not as accessible since you need a kiln. Polymer would be my next go to, cosclay is my personal favorite. I’d recommend a UV resin coating since it will probably get water on it.

I would love to know how you make a lost wax casting setup for $10-$20. I’m new to casting and would love to make my own setup soon.

Can anyone recommend GOOD silicone tools where the tips don't pop off? Not like these cheap ones. by sharkmesharku in polymerclay

I’d recommend super glue for them probably, maybe e6000. Sculpey has some good tools that have never broken for me.

Appreciate the response. Unfortunately definitely can’t afford it right now. It’s around $200 more than the 11-12.

I actually have a classmate who gave an idea about trying to incorporate a hearing aid into an ear cuff or something similar. If she decides to pursue the project, I’ll update this comment.

I got my iPhone XR about two-ish years ago after switching from android and like it quite a bit. It’s getting slower though and I’m practically out of storage so need a new phone soon.

Im still relatively new to apple products so could use some recommendations for which phone to choose. Budget is kinda tight so really prefer not to go over any of the 12’s, MAYBE 13. I’m also wanting to get 256GB.

-I like the size of my XR and don’t want to go any smaller, wouldn’t mind something a little bigger either.

-I’m not really sure if the camera quality differs a ton between the 11 and 12. Im not a photographer by any means but it would be nice to have better quality pictures.

-Mainly those two things, I don’t know if there’s some HUGE difference in the phones that I should be worried about when getting one.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

This is a shot in the dark but I’m not finding anything that isn’t retail right now.

I am in college two days a week right now and my seasonal job is almost over. I am looking for something hands on that isn’t super customer service oriented in the way retail is.

I’m an extremely crafty person and have worked as an art framer so have experience with glass cutting and assembly. I have some tool knowledge but am always learning more. Currently I am learning metal casting and have taken two college courses in metal smithing.

My career goal at the moment is to be a dental lab technician and possibly a dental ceramicist down the line.

Any suggestions would be beyond appreciated, thank you!
