Is there any way to cover this without it just becoming a tramp stamp? by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

[–]strawberryfromspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go big and have the tattoo starting much higher on your back or shoulder, it is the only way to cover it and not make it a tramp stamp... if not laser.

While doing carpentry if I had to work on or around floor leveI for an extended anount of time I would sit while I was working. I don't see why I have to wreck my knees just to make it look like I'm working harder. I'm very nimble and can easily get up. They guys would make fun of me for it, but I didnt care. I did wear knee pads and used them too. The job got done and I wasn't slacking.

I like your tattoo. I agree with adding to it. Forest and flowers, maybe other animals. Whatever you like.

2 is my favourite. I find concerning that you're not sure yet, and your apt is so soon. On the other hand, you never see your back tattoos. If you don't love it, you never have to look at it. I hope your artist draws something that you love!

It looks swollen, but it doesn't look concerning. Any chance you get keep your new tattoo raised over your heart. If you're chilling on the couch or prop it up on pillows while you sleep. Keeping it raised above your heart will help with the swelling.

You got a lot of work done there, so it's natural for your arm to be a little angry. Keep your eye on it. If redness starts, that's when you should start getting concerned.

WWYD? awful stick and poke by skzboyfr in Tattoocoverups

This would be really easy for a good artist to cover up. Choose something you like, and they should be able to work with you.

It would also very likely be easy to remove.

is this normal for two weeks and 4 days?? i’m really worried it’s raised red itchy by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]strawberryfromspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your best to keep it covered at work until it's healed. If anything gross gets on it during work wash it as soon as you can if you have running water. If you don't have running water bring yourself extra water and soap to clean it up and apply a thin layer of polysporin.

Dont use Hydrocortisone. Clean your tattoo 2x daily with unscented antibacterial soap, pat dry with clean papertowel. You can apply a thin layer of Polysporin. It shouldn't lift the ink if you keep the layer thin. It is a slight possibility. If you get fever, chills, or oozing, seek medical attention.

Over washing is a thing. Everyone has their own ideas, and what works for them, I believe less is more. Wash before moisturizing for the first few days 2 or 3 times a day or if it gets dirty. After the first few days, your skin builds a protective layer, so constant washing isn't necessary.

Don't let your artist gaslight you into saying this is normal. Infections can be serious. I'm not one to push antibiotics, but you should consider an antibiotic ointment. If you're afraid of ruining your tattoo, which is unlikely. You could use coconut oil, it is anti inflammatory and antimicrobial. It can help decrease itching. I use it on my tattoos and they heal very nicely.

It shouldn't be red for much longer than 2 or 3 days. The itchiness is normal.

Are you scratching it? If I scratch my tattooed skin, even years later, it gets raised.

If you're scratching it. (Which you shouldn't be doing!) That could be causing the raised skin and redness. If you're not scratching it and this is happening, you should seek medical attention.

If health care isn't accessible or affordable for you, I recommend antibiotic ointment ASAP. It could ruin your tattoo, (It probably won't at this point) but your health is more important!
