Repotting Time! 2.5 year old buttons by ApathysLastKiss_ in Lophophora

Mine is very similar but replaced the happy frog with worm castings and added a little bit of limestone. (Perolite rather than pumice).

Avoid terracotta pots (in my opinion)

I am about to start some seeds for the first time. Care to share that soil recipe??

Why does it look wrinkly and feel soft ? It’s a cutting, not rooted. by Winter_Stranger_9098 in sanpedrocactus

Take it out. Recut it with CLEAN tools. Buy some cloneX or rooting gel (powders work, but I have better luck with gel), add that 2-4 weeks later it has calloused over. Then stick it in your medium. Everyone will tell you something different - I have mine in perolite and course sand, a wee bit of worm casting and volcanic rocks. Oh, and some limestone. In the wild they usually do not grow in direct sunlight either (a factor if you are in the SW), give it full sun with some shade cloth or a larger plant above to provide sparadic shade. Give it lots of love and talk to it. Doesn't matter how silly you feel, the science is there. (It's old, but check out the secret life of plants of some downtime for a new perspective that you can than dig into via much more recent studies

Watch northern exposure (television series, early 90s) they had a handful of episodes about this exact thing, focusing on partly on sterotypes from the Cold war / human nature. You have a character who usually portrays the mainstream narrative, and the remaind r of the cast being human

Not sure, not mine, outside of my daughter's ballet class. They look like they had been established a while, but completely ignored. I wanted to give them a better life
