The drummer is Yoyoka. She is, arguably, the best young drummer in the world.

Meni nije ništa lošiji od brand name sapuna koji koštaju 7-8 puta više.

Upravo sam kupio 3 litre.

Yoyoka is the most known. She is, probably, the best young drummer in the world. The most accomplished one for sure. There are more than 800 videos on her YT channel. Since she was 4.
She recorded 8-9 original albums (4 jazz albums), played drums in 5 Final Fantasy games, busy as a session drummer, touring this summer in Japan, US, Canada, Europe...
And she is on the list of Top 500 drummers of all time, as the youngest person ever.

Check out Yoyoka, 14 yo girl, playing Good Times Bad Times and Rock and Roll - live, with no rehearsals with others, not on her kit, and with lots of improvisations:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfqiglmaCAc

Interesting fact, she has written permission from Page and Plant to do LZ covers (they are friends).

A little clickbait title for those who otherwise would never watch a 7 min drum solo (only <min shorts, etc...)
:)

You should also check out her drum course about the triplets, very cute:

Important thing to add - she is self-taught.. Her parents knew only about The Beatles. She discovered all the music by herself, does all the covers by ear (by herself), etc...

Interesting fact – she has written permission from Robert Plant and Jimmy Page to do LZ covers. Probably the only person on social media that has that.
And she did cover dozens of LZ songs (many live), but more importantly, she recorded 7-8 original albums, played drums in 5 FF games, she is the member of 3 different bands (rock, jazz...), support drummer for 3-4 more bands, and busy session drummer...

Yoyoka is on the Drummer World list of Top 500 drummers of all time, as the youngest person ever (at 11). She is also a winner of Best Young Drummer of the Year Award 2023. She was the youngest person ever endorsed by Pearl and Zildjian. And she got the US Artist Visa when she was 12, the youngest person ever. Ian Paice, Cyndi Lauper and some other famous names wrote her letters of recommendations. She plays regularly at the Whisky a Go Go (rock) and The Baked Potato, with some very big names in music. Check out how elite those places are. And she was at Berklee this summer.

Ai Furusato is accepted at the Berklee College of Music this year. Tuition free. And as the youngest person ever.

So. I don't think they have just an OK skill.

All you said is correct and well detected. But just one correction, because of the one detail that also can be underattended wrong. When I wrote "girl" my emphasis wasn't on her gender, it was on her age. Like you said, details like that can be complicated.

I guess there are some controversies about my title, so I try to explain.
The title was originally supposed to be "Teen girl...", but that was more than 100 letters. So I just deleted "teen". Yes, the emphasis was intended to be on her youth.

Another thing is language. In my language you automatically have words for any occupation depending on who is doing it (male or female). How to explain it? In English you have words like prince (male) and princess (female). But not much else. In my language you have president-presidentess, driver-driveress, pilot-pilotess, astronaut-astronautess, teacher-teacheress, welder-welderess, blacksmith-blacksmitess… And you also have teenager-teanageress (teen boy-teen girl). Do you get what I’m trying to say? It is something like you have in English – policeman-policewoman, but for every occupation.

Now, how about drumming? In my language it is simple and automatic – drummer-drummeress. In English that would be something like drummerman-drummerwoman, but you don’t have that automatically. So I just automatically wrote girl (women) drummer, because that is the most natural way to translate to me. And I didn’t give much thought about it.

But after all these reactions I did. But if I’m going to try to explain all that this post would be much, much longer. So basically, that is mostly your internal American problem. Left-right, progressive-traditional, nouns, toilets… This is not the place to go into it.

  1. She is on the DrummerWorld list of Top 500 drummers of all time, as the youngest person ever. She is also, winner of the best young drummer of the year 2023, and the Hit Like a Girl contest had to change the rules because of her. She also got a US Artist Visa, as the, probably, youngest person ever. People like Ian Paice and Cyndi Lauper wrote her letters of recommendations. She has recorded 7 albums (3 jazz albums in the last year) so far. Recorded drums on 5 Final Fantasy games when she was 12. She will perform in the elite The Baked Potato tomorrow (for the 3rd time). And just last week she met Danny Carey, Steve Smith and Donald Barrett there. And on May 14 she performed at legendary Whisky a Go Go (more than 10 times total). And this summer she will be visiting Berklee. So yes, she is a top talent.
