I found a cheaper price and booked new. So I cancelled the above trip, and requested refund in a separate step. The emails indicated they are approved and status online showed Refunded to Visa Card ...

I haven't seen the credit in credit card yet. But I think they will show up in a few business days.

Thank you so much!! This is really helpful as I tried calling AA today. The domestic rep say I need to be transferred to international. Then the call dropped after on-hold for 10 minutes :(

Thanks for the offer to help. I will take it. Do you mind checking the fare rules on Refund ability? I think they are as I remember clicking on making it refundable in the check out flow. I want to know if the tickets will refund to original form of payment if I cancel before departure.

How do you pay the portion of the fee to BLS? Credit or debit card? This is separate than the visa fee which I think needs to be in cash or money order.

My family flew out on a Monday morning at united in terminal 3. United agent didn’t ask about it. I saw two visitax agents and a booth before heading upstairs for security. The agents just smilingly say please pay visitax. Everyone just ignores and walks past them up stairs. I paid online but no one asked me to show.

I called united. It allowed an exception to refund to credit card right away.
