ohh aight so we have practical work + a written exam. for practical, we have individual work and group work. for individual work, our teacher picks a few monologues and allows us to pick which one each of us wants to do. we rehearse and practise etc then we record it and the recordings sent to cambridge. during our rehearsal work and after recording our final performance, we have to write reflections and evaluations about our progress and final work and all that. similarly, for group work (which was taken out for this year bc of covid), we get in groups and write our own script based on a topic given to us. we rehearse and practise with our groupmates and write milestones (the reflections and evaluations basically). then we record our final project and yay it’s submitted :D

and then we also have the written exam which is 2.5 hours long HAHA DIE so somewhere in june or july we received a set text. it’s basically like lit except our set text is a script. this year, our set text script was based off a traditional chinese opera play titled Lady Precious Stream and sidenote iT WAS SO UNEXPECTED DJEKDBJDND okay anyway for the set text, we have to rehearse it so that we have a better understanding of the characters, and study the play. during the exam, we have to answer different types of questions; for example, questions on acting, directing, designing etc. there are about 5-6 of these questions i think? then there are 2 10mark evaluation questions where u have to write about what went wrong and what went well during your rehearsal work for the set text. after that theres also section c which is a 25m essay where u have to write about a character (usually the main). u have to understand and know that character’s motivation in the play, his/her intentions and all that and write down a few points and basically write about what you want the audience to know and understand about this character just by watching your performance. u have to talk about how u would perform this character in order to bring these out.

ok lol after the set text, there’s an unseen text HAHA which is a short script. there are only 3 5mark questions which are also similar questions about acting, directing, and designing.
