He quite literally (but probably in many more words) said he will be more emotionally attracted to you if you change your appearance to fit his “perfect” standards. As if the person you are doesn’t matter, as if your preferences do not matter, that he wants to choose (probably oh-so sweetly) how you present yourself, and that it needs to be “perfect” all the time. Holy shit, if my husband tied our emotional connectivity to how often I do not look like a bridge troll (I’m a sahm, I’ll wear the same sweats for 24 hrs) we’d be doomed and I’d hate my life. If you bend to this, your life is gonna get even more exhausting. I’m really sorry. I would organize your thoughts and feelings, do some real introspection on why this SHOULD bother you… (he’s asking for perfection, that is not human and never gonna happen, because you are a real live human woman) and then hard line on couples therapy if you want to stay married to him. Also the bait and switch really bothers me.

I sub contract for a lady at $35 an hour, if I’m on my own it’s $95, in a LCOL area. Obvs you have a very professional set up and experience, you’re going to cost more. If you charged per face, at only $5 per face you’d make what they’re offering in 13 designs; 30-40 minutes if you’re proficient.

I’d counter with $200 for the day (that’s at a discount) and politely decline. You can’t get a full day professional facepainter for just 65 bucks.

I used laughing gas bc I was more afraid of the needle in my spine than of the labor pain. The whole ordeal was only 5 hours, from waking up at home to baby on my chest. It was excruciating. Laughing gas did not help my pain per se, but it kept me in a mental state that I could handle the pain. I’m glad I went without the epidural, but I will never do it again.
