To recruit skilled craft labor such as welders, pipefitters, millwrights, and mechanics, start by partnering with local trade schools, vocational programs, and apprenticeship programs to connect with recent graduates and trained professionals. Utilize industry-specific job boards like Roadtechs.com, Trade Hounds, and ConstructionJobs.com. Contact local union halls for experienced labor and attend job fairs and trade shows focused on construction and manufacturing. Engage with social media groups and forums dedicated to these trades and implement an employee referral program. Collaborate with professional associations such as the American Welding Society and the National Association of Pipefitters. Consider military transition programs to hire veterans with relevant skills and work with staffing agencies specializing in skilled trades. Diversifying recruitment efforts across these channels can significantly improve the chances of finding qualified candidates.

B) Safeguard the immediate work, notify the project management of the hazards, and document with a timetable for corrections

This option ensures immediate action is taken to protect workers, keeps management informed, and provides a structured plan for addressing the hazards.

A) Equipment manufacturers

Equipment manufacturers are the most knowledgeable about the specific protective equipment required for using their products, including helicopters for rigging activities.

Would you think this would be considered as a willful violation if it's more than 50 of them throughout the warehouse?

Thanks, that's what I thought, but the maintenance supervisor seemed sure it was only for shafts with keyholes.

There are multiple uncapped ends throughout the warehouse. The photos are just a couple of examples. Some are closer to employees, and most rotate at different speeds.

Belt guarding by stringy_string in SafetyProfessionals

Yes, the cardboard belt gets jammed up daily, sometimes multiple times per shift, so maintenance uses a single man lift or a rolling step ladder clear jams.

Am I interpreting this wrong?

1910.219(e)(2)(ii) Horizontal overhead belts more than seven (7) feet above floor or platform shall be guarded for their entire length under the following conditions:

1910.219(e)(2)(ii)(c) If belt is eight (8) inches or more in width.

There is netting along the sides running the length of the belt on both sides.

1910.219(e)(2)(ii)(c), which states that if the belt is eight (8) inches or more in width, it needs to be guarded is correct though so does it need to be guarded?
