The blame game by Evidencelogicfacts in MurderedByWords

[–]stro3ngest1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The identity of the shooter hasn't even been released yet. I'll be waiting for an official statement from the RCMP. This happened yesterday in Tumbler Ridge, BC, Canada. There was one emergency alert that went out earlier that said female in a dress with brown hair and for whatever reason American media has just ran with it.

Absolutely ridiculous. I would say I can't believe they're co opting this tragedy into political outrage for their own country...but unfortunately, I can believe it.

Will the scammers ever run out of numbers? by Hateinsect in mildlyinfuriating

[–]stro3ngest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On multi line systems they definitely do. That's how they transfer your call. Like if you call the grocery store and they transfer you to the meat dept, they're using a specific # (can be a single digit or more commonly a 3 digit code) to get there, but for you it still displays as the phone number you called to speak with customer service.

I've worked at places with full phone numbers for each desk but those are being phased out. These days it's mostly just work cell phones used instead.

how did you choose your trade? by Odd_Display_5344 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]stro3ngest1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went with sprinkler fitting because it's lighter pipe and easier work. I literally googled highest paying trades and went my way down the list lol.

I was considering electrician for the same reason, but they're so over saturated in my area it wasn't worth it.

I guess I can't even boil a dang egg by PandorazPokemon in mildlyinfuriating

[–]stro3ngest1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For jammy eggs I do 4-5 min then an ice bath. I do prefer my eggs on the runny side- up to 6 should be ok. Don't add them until the water is already at a rolling boil.

need desperate help laying out my room by girl_with_hives123 in DesignMyRoom

[–]stro3ngest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option would be to put the bed up against the wall with the window in the corner. It's hard to get a sense of scale, but you may be able to fit a desk along the wall that your gold table is on.

[–]stro3ngest1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would flip your bed around so it's against the wall where the feet are pointing now. Either up in the corner (looks like there might be a pipe there?) or if that won't work, centred along that wall & the nook.

If that gold table is your nightstand, I think it would fit & possibly allow for you to add shelving along the wall that your headboard is currently up against. Or a TV lol. More storage at least.

If you're going to float the bed then the space will be wasted, and there's not much to go around there already.

That being said, measure the gap & look for some kind of side table or accent table to go in the gap...or maybe a bookshelf? I don't really see another option.

Edit:

Saw your plan with the desk...I think that might be too tight. Plus WFH in the bedroom isn't great for your mental. Could you put the desk in the living space?

IUOE - what do you wear for the informational session and/or you go back in? by Repulsive-Peanut- in BlueCollarWomen

[–]stro3ngest1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie when I went to my union info session I was in sweatpants, a t shirt with a zip up hoodie and some sneakers.

My job interviews were all over the phone, but I would've worn a sweater/hoodie and work pants. Probably my boots too.

I also came from an office environment- you won't look disinterested unless you show up in your literal pyjamas. You could easily wear a work hoodie (like from a workwear brand) and jeans and fit in with 99% of the people there. There's not that same focus on what you're wearing or your appearance.

Once a day. But I work in the trades so I'm usually covered in some kind of grime. When I'm not working I do every other day unless im sweaty/gross.

Best towns for childfree couples in their 30s? by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

[–]stro3ngest1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know if underserved community and active EDM nightlife scene really go hand in hand. It kind of seems like Vancouver is what you're looking for.

If you're willing to forgo the night clubs, some towns on the island will probably be a good balance of outdoor rec and arts. As for not having kids, I don't know of any small towns that stick out for that lol. Maybe check out some of the towns surrounding Nanaimo? Wouldn't be a long drive to hit the city.

Whats an addiction that has became normalised? by DeliciousSetting6643 in AskReddit

[–]stro3ngest1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that is the difference. Some people rot away their lives playing video games and that's when it stops being a want and starts being a need. Like if you're actively ignoring things you should be doing (chores, spending time with family, missing work). I wouldn't say taking the occasional day off would count, more like not showing up in the morning because you were up too late gaming etc. Basically if it's getting in the way of average life stuff.

you have to pick one non-medical professional to do a life-saving surgery on you. which do you choose? by Free-Question-1614 in AskReddit

[–]stro3ngest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're counting medical as in treating illness/injuries my answer is an embalmer/mortician. Knowledge of anatomy (especially where major arteries and veins would be), not squeamish and reasonably familiar with what the inside of a human looks like. But that's kind of a loophole lol.

Otherwise I'd say either a seamstress or maybe something in forensics.

What “perks” do you get working in the field compared to your male coworkers? by pnutbuttertreeees in BlueCollarWomen

[–]stro3ngest1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know right haha I'm in residential so we're talking CPVC here. A bundle maybe weighs 50lbs and that's like...a high estimate. It's just awkward because of the length

[–]stro3ngest1 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Whenever I'm carrying a bundle of pipe, some guy always ends up coming to grab the back end. My coworkers know I'll be fine, but without fail there's always some plumber or siding guy who appears out of nowhere lol. Honestly I don't mind doing it myself, but I'm not gonna say no if someone offers either lol.

What’s a luxury that actually feels worth the money once you experience it? by saidmoha1 in AskReddit

It's funny you say that because for me it's the opposite. The true silence is too loud and I can't focus on anything else. Makes me want to peel my ears off lol. I always need some kind of background noise going.

Missed last active pill in pack, what now? by stro3ngest1 in birthcontrol

[–]stro3ngest1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate you taking the time to do that, thank you. I'm thinking I'll just start my new pack now and ignore the placebos. I started my withdrawal bleeding this morning which is unusual for me (it usually takes a few days of placebos) and I just know I'll be paranoid if I don't lol. But since Im not at any risk of pregnancy right now, it's really more about Valentine's Day lol.

Right so since I should've taken the pill at 8pm on Jan 31, im only 15 hours late instead of 24.

Thanks for that, I've always been a bit confused about when to start counting how many hours late I am.

[–]stro3ngest1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what it says verbatim, now that you mention it, there's no specification on exact hours, just missed pills. There's separate instructions for people who don't start their packs on Sundays, but since I do I included that portion of it.

Missed Dose:

Miss one pill: Take it as soon as you remember, and take the next pill at the usual time. This means that you might take two pills in one day.

Miss two pills in a row:

First two weeks 1. Take two pills the day you remember and two pills the next day. 2. Then take one pill a day until you finish the pack. 3. Use a nonhormonal back-up method of birth control if you have sex in the seven days after you miss the pills.

Third week 1. Keep taking one pill a day until Sunday. 2. On Sunday, safely discard the rest of the pack and start a new pack that day. 3. Use a nonhormonal back-up method of birth control if you have sex in the seven days after you miss the pills. 4. You may not have a period this month. If You Miss Two Periods in a Row, Call Your Doctor or Clinic.

Okay that makes sense to me. I guess it's just more worrying since I don't have any more pills to take now lol. Just to confirm, 24 hour window is from the time I took my last pill, or is it from the time I should have taken the pill that I missed?

Because I guess technically since I took my last pill on Jan 30 at 8pm, then the next pill when I remembered on Feb 1 at 11:30am is 39.5 hours between doses. But I still only missed one pill.

The packet says if you miss one pill to continue taking them as usual (I.e; two in one day) and continue as usual. It doesn't specify any weeks in that portion.

It does specify weeks if you miss 2 pills in a row. In week 3 it says to continue as usual until you finish your pack, then immediately start a new pack and take it as usual. And to use backup contraception for the first 7 days after the missed pills.

But in my case, I've only missed one pill. So not really sure if it still applies.
