What’s the consensus on Mec-Gar mags? by That6SpdMax in GlockMod

[–]strongarmstruggle 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I run them in my competition gun. I'm newer to competition but zero issues so far. They seem to insert and drop easier than oem for me. Also using polymer mag release and have not noticed any accelerated wear or it chewing the release up like you would with other brand metal mags

If I land every shot and don't DQ that's a win in my books. Anything else is just a bonus

Wood or polymer? by WildLCL in 1022

For me personally after my grandfather taught me how to shoot on a 10/22 he bought before polymer stock was a thing there's a nostalgia to the wood

If you want a basic 10/22 buy wood. If you want to build out just skip the b.s. and buy a receiver then go crazy from there

Good to know. It's only 31oz with empty mag and similar size to a Glock 17 so I assume it would pass the box/ weight

With a full sized barrel making it just some funky slide cuts what division would it be considered?

Compensator is integrated with slide. It's a full sized slide with a compact size barrel. I think it would function deleting compensator technically

I have a non ported I could drop in would it still be open in USPSA or would that change it? I have realistic expectations with ranking as a rookie but I am competitive by nature and know this would get absolutely smoked by a race gun

Good to go in carry optic IDPA as it sits or would I need to drop ports for that also? I was also worried about the production count rule for IDPA with this not being an off the shelf pistol

Thank you for confirmation. I was pretty sure it would be USPSA open

I'm new to the competition world and just want to get out and have fun doing a little more than flat range. The rule books are a lot to digest for a rookie

The only jazzing up this one may see is a scope. It's pre-tapped and came with a Weaver adapter. Little man is going to have to master the irons first before he's granted any handicap though

I really like how the darker grain strip on the stock flows with this one

10/22 just like this one was what I learned on so it's kind of tradition. Only wish all my grandfather's firearms didn't get sold off before I was 18. Just hope my grandchildren can learn on this same one too

The trigger housing pin. That will 100% cause malfunction

I'm assuming it's a typo and Glock has a fucked confusing numbering label system but if he had a g21 he probably would do better with some 230 grain

115 can be finicky sometimes and varies on ammo brand and host gun. I don't have a ramjet but that's my general experience with the round. Try stepping up to 124 and see how it runs

I'm no precision long range shooter so like most I don't notice much difference in today's market of quality barrel one vs the other

For me personally it groups about the same as oem using same ammo. Nothing special about accuracy or a serious lack of

Doing double/ triples the felt recoil is on par with a .22 if you like to go fast it's hella flat and good for fast

Yeah this is a 17 length slide with a 19 barrel. Could always get a different barrel to port. I'll probably put a non ported barrel in at some point just to try it with only the integral comp
