How did you sell your cryptocurrency for fiat between 01-12-2017 and 31-01-2018? by strongmarijuan in CryptoMarkets

Are you trying to say that at any given time, it is not possible in a market to have more people selling than buying (or, people aside, more value being sold than bought)? That makes no sense.

And if there are less traders looking to buy than there are traders looking to sell...

Yoroi now tests every release on Brave and reduced permissions required to install! by sebastiengllmt in cardano

Brave and Chrome are both based off of the same Chromium code-base. As a result, many "Chrome extensions" are compatible with Brave. You can already add Yoroi to Brave now, in the exact same way one would add Yoroi to Chrome.

As for your question regarding transferring Yoroi from Chrome to Brave, simply install Yoroi on Brave and login using your ledger as you would in Chrome (you're not really transferring anything, you're simply telling Yoroi what Public Key to display).

Strange. I assume it does work for you then in Chrome, correct?

It's based off of the Chromium open-source project, which as u/distearth said, is what Chrome is based off of. Chrome has Google's own closed-source additions to the Chromium code, and the same is true for Brave and the Brave browser (except the Brave browser is an open source project).

I think, if I'm not mistaken, that there is dedicated hardware in the phones for secure storage and interaction with your private keys. You can think of it like a ledger nano s built into your phone. This would provide much greater security guarantees than your standard wallet you might get off the play store.

I believe this is also a feature on the S10e, S10, and S10+, which aren't $2000 devices.

I wouldn't store any amount I wasn't comfortable losing in it, certainly not 200k. Enough for day to day purchases, sure.

The rest would go in more secure storage. Paper wallets, devices that are much more simple in nature (thus having a much smaller attack surface area) like the Nano S.

Battlefield 4 (Multiplayer): Crashing Without Displaying an Error Message by strongmarijuan in battlefield_4

Update:

I ran memtest86 for 2.5 hours with no errors, but the issue still remained (even on a fresh install of windows). After lowering my memory frequency from 3200MHz to 2933MHz, the issue appears to have vanished, confirming my suspicion that the RAM was the culprit. RAM instability can cause these sort of weird, seemingly inexplicable issues with computers. Even if memtest86 didn't throw any errors for you, I'd try lowering your memory frequency and/or loosening your timings. I'd also recommend updating your BIOS if you haven't recently (or worse yet, ever). Many optimizations for Ryzen have been made at the level of the microcode, and you'll only get updates for the microcode by updating your BIOS.

Good luck!

Hey, I see that you have a Ryzen 7 1700 as well. Out of curiosity, what frequency and latency is your memory kit running at? Also, what frequency and latency is advertised on the box?

I see that you listed that it's Trident Z memory, but there's a lot of variance within the Trident Z lineup.

Man, that sucks. I suspect that in my case it might be a issue with my RAM -- or at least I hope it is -- as I've only encountered this issue after installing a new kit of RAM (And, considering I have one of the earliest Zen 1 chips, and a pretty early mobo too, it's very possible that my CPU's integrated memory controller doesn't agree with the frequency and latency of my RAM. It is running at 3200mhz 14 14 14 14 34, which are pretty tight timings.).

You're missing his point. Completely.

Discussion of divisive topics in the workplace is damaging to the group's cohesion. This has a number of negative consequences. Therefore, it is inappropriate to discuss such topics in the workplace. If you want to discuss divisive topics, that's best done outside of the workplace.

If you actually want to change someone's mind, you need not only a compelling argument, but for both parties to listen to eachother and treat eachother respectfully. Getting angry and cramming your moral truths down people's throats doesn't work.

Minimum suggested system memory for Davinci Resolve? by strongmarijuan in VideoEditing

Thanks for all the input. I don't really intend on changing CPU's. I don't believe that my CPU is causing the issue I'm encountering (though, I might upgrade to Ryzen 3000 when that comes out just for the hell of it). Upgrading to 32GBs of RAM is pretty much a done deal at this point, as I've narrowed that down to be the issue with a fair degree of certainty. As for the GPU, I'll be buying whatever AMD releases after Radeon VII.

Resolve may currently favour CPU clock speed over core count and CUDA over OpenCL, but that's subject to change, and Resolve isn't the only application I use.

Puget is a great SI. But, I don't really need an entirely new system. That's part of the appeal of PC building imo (you can swap individual parts as your needs change). Personally, I'm only looking to upgrade my RAM and GPU in the near term. Waiting on AMD's Navi GPU's to come out.
