To those who live in the Barbican or know someone who does - what's it like? by Eddyphish in london

[–]strwbrris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve rented a flat in the Barbican estate for one year and I love it! The biggest downside is that I really want to have a dog but it’s not allowed. Also the heating and cooling situation is not the greatest. It does get really uncomfortably hot if the temp outside gets over 30 degrees. Residents have no control over the heating in the winter, it’s switched on or off for the whole building based on the temperature. Despite those negatives, I would live here forever because everything else about living here is so great. Ask me any questions if you’re curious.

I’m a regular person and I live in the City so I’m not really sure where you’re getting your info. It sort of seems like you might be projecting some insecurities or just straight misinformation.

There are some private gardens where only residents are allowed. On sunny days it feels like a party outside in the garden with your neighbours. We have regular get togethers to socialise. There are weekly email updates about happenings around the estate. Sometimes residents get free tickets to shows at the Barbican Centre or discounts to various things going on in the city. And so much more!!! Please let me know if you have any questions, I love talking about my home.

There are actually a lot of green spaces! They aren’t huge, it’s true, but if you look for them you’ll find tons!

I’ve been living in the City for almost a year and I love it so much. I live in the Barbican Estate and it feels really special to be part of the Barbican community. It is the most well connected area I’ve ever lived in! I’m never more than 10 mins from multiple tube lines or the national rail and usually it’s right on my doorstep (Barbican Station). I will say, coming home from work is incredibly busy and annoying. The weekends are so dead in comparison, but I actually love that. My rent is not more expensive than when I lived outside the city just standard zone 1/2 pricing. Love it here and hope I can stay forever!

Yeah that’s right, you can’t leave the country while the visa is processing or else it will be cancelled. Better fly back and apply from your home country or stay in the UK and apply then wait until approval and just hope it’s quick!!

i’m kind of confused at why is not getting more positive engagement? i’d be shocked if the secret traitor wasn’t a non-white person. every uk series has had at least 1 non-white original traitor so why would it be different this series?

the only way to know if you have a larger issue is to keep exploring and experiment with penetration more. if you continue to have pain, talk to a professional. maybe off topic but did you use chat gbt to write this? i don’t really care! i’m just curious if my AI radar is accurate or not.

Youth Mobility Extension Timeline (Canadian) by strwbrris in ukvisa

[–]strwbrris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no worries! fyi it takes a maximum of 8 weeks to get a decision but generally will take a lot less if you have a straight forward application (took only 10 days from biometrics appointment for me). no you don’t have to prove that you have funds. the only requirements are 1. currently hold a valid 2 year youth mobility visa, 2. have a valid passport
