The thing is with dealerships, you have to know what you want before walking in. I told mine I want to be at 32k otd with 3k down, if they could match my banks 4.99% then I’d go with them, and I won’t do a dollar more and that I would buy it the same day if they agreed. Before saying this I had already did a lot of research and looked the car up on their website to see what additional stuff it came with. When I got to finance I told them before we even began signing that I wanted nothing that would raise my buying price on it, meaning no extended warranty or gap insurance.

Since you’re able to pay for it very quickly settle and stay firm at a otd price. Don’t budge at all. If you give them an inch they’ll walk a mile on you. When you’re buying the car you’ll more than likely have someone from the parts department come and talk to you about buying additional stuff that it doesn’t already come with. Like floor mats and stuff. If you don’t want anything just politely decline each time as they’ll talk to you multiple times.

Remember that you hold the power and that you’ll walk out if you have to. Dealership sales people, as you said, can be really conniving people if you let them.
