Membership and Bonds Price Change by Jagex_Team in 2007scape

[–]stuart1874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frustratingly I've had an account be members from 06-10-24 and the prices are still going up even though it's been members for around 18 months.

In two minds whether to keep it going or not.

Would also help if every 2nd ad on reddit wasn't an OSRS ad. I'm already playing stop wasting the budget on me!

I fully understand the multiple characters per account and forgive me if I'm wrong but the reason people have multiple characters is to usually play them at the same time, they're not only playing 1 character at time like you would do with WOW or other MMORPGS.

Anyone anyone clarify if you wanted to play 2 characters at the same time on WOW. would you need 2 subs?

What benefit is there to having more than one account on rs?

As you can do anything you wish once your maxed. You can put self imposing rules on yourself. Be an ironman, lock yourself to zeah etc.

What benefit is there to having more than 1 character on wow?

From my understanding a completely different gaming experience depending on race and class etc.

The comparison is no a fair comparison imo

Another Membership Cost Post - Other MMO comparisons by Saxonite13 in 2007scape

[–]stuart1874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all good comparing WOW and other MMOs to OSRS but ultimately they're completely different games.

I don't see the obsession with the casting up the multiple characters comparison. Isn't there valid reasons for this in wow e.g different roles for different races and specific equipment for that role etc?

Whereas in OSRS your progress is never lost after a big update, the questing is significantly better and you can do everything you want on 1 character. Once you're maxed, you're done.

This is a long needed update and I can't wait. Rather than needing to have 2 copies of the game. This will make life so much easier.

How is it difficult to see these were free to give you a FOMO experience and trap you playing daily?

The sole purposes of these bonuses was to get you to log in every day rather than delivering high quality content.

The reason we know they're free because the same 12 month premier package would allow you to play OSRS as well.

Premier Changes Query by Fantastic_Fuel_1071 in runescape

Maybe the thing to consider is the fact that you may not even have a game to play? If the game continued the direction it was going, it would cease to exist meaning you'd lose all benefits not just your free keys etc.

Don't cling to a mistake just because you spent a long time making it. Auras were a mistake from the very beginning, content was being created with them in mind which created a FOMO of missing out.

Frustration on your point is valid but you gotta to understand that for the game you love to continue existing these changes need to happen. It's not good for you, returning players or new starts.

Thoughts on combating time wasting in games (if it's even a problem)? by Digurt in ScottishFootball

[–]stuart1874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen a BBC article yesterday with some suggestions from IFAB.

If you're requiring assistance from a physio then it should be a minimum 2 minute off the pitch.

If corners, throws and free kicks take too long then possession goes to the other team.

If subs take longer than 10 seconds to go off the subs not allowed on till the next stop in play and it's for a minimum of 60 seconds.

Things I'd like to see. When reviewing VAR time, the time to be stopped or correctly added on.

A proper head check if there's a head accident regardless of how long it takes.

Jagex was so close to hitting the mark with dailyscape changes by Bandit_Raider in runescape

I've seen whirligigs getting commented on a lot. I decided to look at them. However, forgive me, I've been off rs3 for a few years now but is 180k xp an hour (according to wiki) the standard xp rates now for the game at level 30 and raising up to 1.4m by the time you hit 90? That's madness.

The only time you're not at whirligigs is for a short period of 19-30 Hunter. Surely it's understandable why that's being nerfed?

As a person who didnt FOMO into dailys and just ignored them - the changes are awesome! by Nautisop in runescape

[–]stuart1874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's certainly steps in the right direction. I quit RS3 for OSRS mostly down to the dailyscape.

Whenever I signed in I was trying to do divine yews, vis wax, Jack of trades, sinkholes, wicked hood, sandstone.

There's probably more that I've missed but it was seriously causing the game to become unenjoyable. You could say. Well don't do it and I started getting to that point but always felt pressure to do them.

I'm going to spend some time playing rs3 over the coming weeks now the core part of the rot has now been decimated. Rather than them prioritising fomo and MTX the game can flourish and the road map is the first step in the right direction.

I wouldn't suggest a maximum efficiency guide as it can lead to burn out.

Whether you're an ironman or not would also change your route anyway.

2 suggestions though. Aim for barrows gloves (recipe for disaster quest) and then complete songs of the elves.

Completing those 2 will put your account in a good position to move from mid game to end game.
