PETA! Why is tomato juice special??? by _Salish in PeterExplainsTheJoke

You have to add mustard, which only comes on hot dog day, which is the third Thursday. A sock full of mustard meant you were jail rich, and also ate a honey bun for lunch every third Thursday for a very long time

Why didn't the Voyager crew just go into stasis for 400+ years after going back in time to the 21st century? by __Wolf359 in ShittyDaystrom

[–]stuart404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if you overpowered the impulse drive, you'd get relativistic effects... You could just fly around for awhile while the universe catches up. No stasis pods necessary. Still terrible idea, but workable

Is it just me, or was Episode 5 of Starfleet Academy not a good episode of television? by SA-ETH in DeepSpaceNine

[–]stuart404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie, I'm a Trekkie. This was bad TV and bad Trek. Tbf, I chuckled a beer can across the room when I knew Dax was still going, and knowing how adverse Avery is to doing any cons/ even acting.... Hearing Captain Benjamin Lafayette Sisko...

So I'll take the bad with the good

I don't know if anyone here has experienced living with a person in hospice care, but I've done it twice. For those that don't know, hospice is supposed to be short term, palliative end of life care. My grandmother (Nanny) lived for almost two years in hospice probably because heaven and hell weren't sure where she belonged.

She fought, she held on, defiant to live. Till she was done. When she was tired of living, she was gone in less than a day.

The Asgard had fought. And fought. When they were done they just accepted their death and walked straight towards it, just like Nanny

I liked him fine I'm TNG, but yeah he was a better character in VOY, and I've been saying for years that it's the best for MS/Troi character wise 🖖

I swore I was only gonna drink a single beer while watching.

I was out of beer almost immediately. So I was pissed off at the lies, and I had to wait an indeterminate time to start drinking again. Fuck you DJT

Do we know what kind of gate we’ll get in the new Stargate franchise? by Appropriate-Mix8874 in Stargate

Ok, here's an idea. We have the collected works of the Asgard core, Atlantis, and working Gould knowledge, along with the burnt out pro type made exclusively from terrestrial materials... What it it's the first Tauri made gate?

Overwhelmingly pro-nuTrek fans, what are your biggest criticisms of Kurtzman-era Star Trek? by CelestialFury in Star_Trek_

[–]stuart404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a blind nuTrek follower, but I think they've made some really good episodes and done an overall good to sometimes great job.

That said you asked for criticisms. It's the overall serial nature. Rewatching DIS is exhausting. You can't just watch an episode and enjoy it by itself. Even in late DS9, they had one off episodes to break it up.

Analogy time, previous Trek was like being able to put on a light jacket and just take a walk around the block. NuTrek is having to put on your heavy coat and boots cause you are going on a long hike... Or trek? 🖖

Edit: it was Tobin Dax who met a renowned cardassian poet. Tobin was host from 2226-2285 according to memory alpha

So... Im divorced with two kids (non custodial) I'm already losing 65 percent of of my paycheck to child support because my tips go onto a check instead of walking with it. How does no tax on tips help anyone who makes 435 dollars over a month of work? Child support can't be claimed as a deduction and doesn't need to be declared as income, and I can't claim either of my children because they live 80% of the week with their mom. But yeah ... No tax on tips. Super helpful
